(i really miss some of my buddy's on there,but was taking up way to much of my time)
but anyways,
my most missed thing from that forum was its large RTD community
for those who dont know what RTD is-read this

i would like to announce the first ever,
rimworld-roll to dodge


signups:
while i have no hard-limit on players
i want to keep it manageable,first come first serve

character sheet:
im not sure how many people will want to play
so i would suggest signing up first,then do your character sheet
i would like all character sheets done in this format

physical appearance:(hair color,height,skin tone,ect.)
skills/atributes:(ie:smart,woodworker,sneaky)
background:(a quick character background)
additional info:(anything else you want me to know about your character)

i would also like you to answer a few questions
(not immediately- just sometime before i start the game)

how serious it should be:

ive been working on a pirate "translation" for rimworld

Mods / need help with quotes for propaganda/speaker mod

me and skullywag,were considering making a propaganda speaker mod.
given the theme of the game-we want them to be somewhat funny
we know that we have some witty people on this forum,
and were wondering if anyone had any quotes they would suggest and/or request
as scullywah put it

anyways i have a plan :)
im creating a craftable magic wand mod
well i can do all the coding myself(im an amateur but progressing well)
im absolutely rubbish at art

looking for a parner(s) to work on the art
all i need(for the release) is some wand weapons,"magic" item/resource,and a small crafting table
(you'll get full credit for all your work BTW)
well i have a bit of concept art drawn up,
you'll be pretty open to whatever you want to draw

also,well i don't particularly need it(at least i think)
if anyone wants to help the coding/"proofread"my code-id be happy to let you on the team

Ideas / auto-doc bed(a way to do surgery to self)

ive always found it quite annoying that you cant just(as a challenge)run a 1 person colony
i propose a way to allow colonists to DIY there health ;D
1.you could only-replace organs,treat self,or install peg legs-nothing beyond that
(also HOOK HANDS ALREADY but thats a whole other thing ;))
2.it would have its own special quality-even lower than the default lowest
3.to not lose consciousness instead of applying anesthetic
it would just be HORRIBLE PAIN :'( that gave a large negative thought quite a while after

it shouldn't be(in any way,shape,or form)a good idea-but it should still be an option

the auto-doc bed is now the main idea of this thread

(i will update this as i get suggestions
cant think of a better way to explain this-so ill just quote him)

1.that's (relativity) easy to build,average research cost/power,
but quite a high chance of lethal or major malfunction
2.a high research,resource,and power build
but a much higher chance of success

this actually gives me an idea-the auto doc "recipes" cost more medicine than usual
this (in addition to all the other suggested drawbacks) should make it so a decent human doctor
(or even a sub-par one)is superior to the auto-doc and it should be used in emergency's only
ie:all colinists are 3-6 or incapable of doctoring

Mods / some modding questions

im a complete noob at coding but ive done a few mods on games before
edit:if it helps-mostly xml/ftl:faster than light but a few other assorted games here and there
but anyways-i have 2 questions
1.how hard is it to get into modding rimworld
exactly what it says-im a pretty quick learner but,
roughly how much time would i have to dedicate before i can make a decent original mod?
2.whats the best way to get started
so far Ive just been looking at the wiki for theory,
then looking at mods others have made and reverse engineer them
while Ive replicated a few basic ones,i havent really got into bigger stuff yet
is this the best way to do this?
