I'm not sure if this is happening when something in particular happens, but at least 4 or 5 times now during normal gameplay there will this crackly sound in my headset and then all sound from the game will die until I restart it, and then things are back to normal.

My headset is a USB 7.1 Surround Gamecom 780 if that helps.

Fallbreaker

So my third Colony was by far my most successful as by then I had more or less worked out how the game functions.

One of my original Colonists 'Tiffy' was the most hardworking member of our little community, she worked the hardest and was always reliable.
I rewarded her efforts by always giving her the best weapons and armor, I also valued her the most, and losing her would cost the whole colony greatly. One day I noticed that her Left Kidney was destroyed. I couldn't recall if she never had one or if she lost it in a fire-fight, but it troubled me greatly. My most prized member of society, disabled and me unable to do anything to alleviate her ailment. I began calling every passing trader ship to see if they were selling Kidneys, but alas, they sold all other organs but not the one she needed. So I eventually decided, that this was just her crutch to bear, she was strong, she wouldn't let it stop her. But i remained feeling very guilty.

One day, the Colony had fought off our most brutal attack by pirates yet, and we had taken a couple of the bastards prisoners. But being good people, we always give others a second chance. One of these prisoners, Jonston had barely survived our defence, he must have been tough because we had never seen someone survive with such a severe brain injury before. Finally he was healed and so grateful he decided to join us.
Unfortunately his brain was permanently damaged and his movement was incredibly slow. He could barely get out of bed and walk to the cafeteria and eat a meal before he was so tired that he'd have to go back to sleep! He wasn't going to last long.

But then I realized, he could still be an asset to the community and after a heart-to-heart discussion, he agreed to donate his body to the Colony. And after hours and hours of intense surgery, he past away, leaving many useful parts, including a Left Kidney which I bestowed upon 'Tiffy'. The strength Jonston had to survive as long as he did was surely inside the kidney that was now inside 'Tiffy', because she only became stronger and stronger and survived to the bitter end when the colony fell to Mechanoids.

She was my first and last Colonist.
