I'm running v0.9.727 with no mods.
Whenever there's a fire visible on-screen, the framerate drops to 1 or 2 fps. Fire from an incendiary mortar caused it in one game, a crashing AI pod caused it in another.
The weird thing is that the usual fire graphic doesn't appear -- I get a glow where the fire should be, and sparks, but no fire image.
If I adjust the viewing area so that the fire's not visible, my framerate immediately returns to normal.
I'm playing with a large map (300x300) instead of the default size, which is the only difference from the 'standard' game I can think of.
Is there any way to fix this? Hoping to make it through a game without needing to manage a fire is sort of like hoping for a game where the pirates arrive with gifts of plasteel and gold instead of shivs for your kidneys. And eyes. And...
