Can you go on a world tour and if you destroy every enemy base of a faction... eliminate them?

Ideas / Ideas for plant blight
April 06, 2017, 12:06:57 PM
Currently, if you get plant blight 90% of all food plants die.
There are several problems with this.
1. Since it affects all food plants, there is no reason to have diversity in the plants you grow for food.
2.  Plant diseases, are usually only deadly to one species of plant. So its unrealistic as well.
3. There is no counter.

Suggestions:
Split the plant blight into two different events.
1.  Plant blight kills off x.  - Make the current plant blight effect one of the species the player is growing.
2.  Insects/locus have swarmed and are eating x, y, and z.  - All plants of selected species loose health until they die.  Any food left outdoors that contain those ingredients is similarly eaten.

Suggestion 2:  Instead of insta kill 90%.  Have the plants become diseased and spread the disease to nearby plants of the same species.  (Same code as the fire, but with different visuals).  When diseased, the plant slowly looses health.
Results:
1.  Fungicides - Another research item and consumable.  Used to prevent the spread of blights in the fields.
2.  Encourage players to grow more than one giant field of one crop.
3.  The player could desperately attempt to harvest what they can from the field before all the plants are killed.  Currently, its like, dang... nothing I can do about that.

Bugs / L|657 Various hunting bugs
December 18, 2014, 06:52:13 PM
Issue 1:
On occasion creatures that are marked to be hunted, will be marked as forbidden when they die. Ex:  The creature dies from bleeding out, instead of a hunter's bullet.  Ex2:  A hunter accidentally hits another creature and kills it instead of his targeted prey.

What I expect:
If a creature that has been marked for hunting gets accidentally killed by one of my hunters or bleeds out because of stray bullet then it shouldn't be forbidden to haulers.

Issue 2:
You tell a worker with a low shooting skill to be a hunter in order to grind his/her shooting skill.  They will stay out there until they are having a mental breakdown if they keep on failing to kill the creature.

What I expect:
When the hunter gets hungry or tired, he/she should go eat or rest.  Rather than stand out there going insane from starvation and lack of sleep.

Issue 3:
Hunters will quite happily fire their guns when another hunter/worker is passing through their line of fire.  Injuring or killing them on occasion.

What I expect:
When a worker gets in the way of the hunter, the hunter should either wait for the worker to pass on by before firring or move to a different location before shooting again.

Issue 4:
Hunters will get as far away from the prey as they possibly can before shooting.  This lowers their accuracy significantly.

What I expect:
Get the hunters closer, no further than half the gun's effective range.

That concludes all the issues I found with the hunting.

Bugs / L 0.657 Orbital drops land inside buildings
December 17, 2014, 09:44:22 AM
Cargo can land inside a building near the cargo pad.
Centipede landed inside a building.

What I expect to happen.
Drops not land inside buildings
or
some visual indications that they crashed through the roof.

What happens:  Given a choice between survival meals that are far away vs simple or fine meals close by. Citizens will run across the entire map to eat the survival meals.

What I expected to happen:  I expect the citizens to prefer the nearby fine and simple meals to the far away survival meals.

Bugs / [L|652] Crops only grow during day.
December 12, 2014, 12:00:00 AM
What happens: Crops don't grow at night when under sunlamps.  Even though they have light and the correct temperature.
What is expected:  When exposed to correct temp/light, they should grow continually.

Ideas / Hunting Suggestions.
September 24, 2014, 09:32:03 AM
A couple bugs and ideas for solutions.
If you have more that one hunter, they will quite happily shoot people in their line of fire.  This forces you to either have only 1 hunter or to micro-manage the hunters.

A solution would be to tell the AI, when hunting, don't shoot when someone is in front of you, instead change positions.  Also, maybe teach the pathfinding to not have people walk in front of a hunter that is shooting at an animal.

The other bug with hunting is that if someone recovers from an injury (or has just become a citizen), if they had the hunting task beforehand... they will quite happily run off without a weapon to try to defeat the muffolo with their bare fists... and usually get mangled horribly because of it.  This could be fixed by disabling hunting for people who were incapacitated/incarcerated.  Giving us time to find them, give them a new weapon and manually turning hunting back on for them.

Bugs / Linux rendering bug

Kubuntu 14.04
Using the binary AMD driver.

Zooming in and out will result in the graphical glitches seen in the screenshot (see upper right room by the table and also by the lamp).  Where parts of the view are off.  Scrolling will also result in similar glitches.
