There should be the option that you could research and build an Command Computer which will be used to switch electrically controled devices remotely at any given time, without the need of a colonist to switch it on fizically.
You could inplement building an Command Room from which you would give orders to your colonists. Into this room you would have to build this desk to gain acces to the Restrictions Task, Graph and other things.
