Ideas / Different Planets
July 30, 2015, 01:10:01 AM
I think it would be easy to have multiple planets to crash land on. These are my ideas so far. Based upon sagitarius_2k's idea.
Standard Planet- The standard planet
No Oxygen Planet- Would have to make oxygen generator (sagitarius_2k's idea.)
Water Planet- Lots of water type stuff. You might land on a rock and have to build out from there
Poison Planet- Toxic Fallout would be common but would usually be shorter, poisonous plants, food and animals
Dead Planet- No sun, no life. Just rock.
Hostile Planet- Everything there is hostile. From plants, to animals, to people.
Radioactive Planet- Areas outside of buildings would be deadly with rads.
Lava Planet- Always hot. 100+ degrees. You must build a cooler fast.
Mechanoid Planet- Most factions would consist of intelligent mechanoids. Maybe even mechanoid animals instead of living ones?
EMP Planet- No electronics can be used.

Stories / Sad Stories
July 28, 2015, 04:43:58 AM
What is the saddest thing you guys have seen in Rimworld? For me it was being forced to sell all of my colonists into slavery except one because the colony was falling and I didn't want to see my colonists die. Everyone was in a terrible mood and half of the colonists died from an attack. I realized the chances of building a ship were zero. The last guy, who had to be left behind so he could sell everyone else, managed to get another guy into our colony so I decided to use the new guy to sell the guy left behind so he could survive too. I had to watch the new colonist struggle to survive alone, but only to witness him die of infections. I'm just glad I got to save some of my colonists. Even though I did lose some of my best colonists. RIP in peace. Please tell me I wasn't the only one that had to sell my colonists into slavery so they could live.

Ideas / Species Variation.
July 28, 2015, 02:55:27 AM
I was thinking about the birth of animals when I thought about species variation. By this I mean some animals would have black fur, some might have white fur and etc. Each animal could have it's own alleles. Some traits are dominant and recessive and if you have reached 7th grade science you know how alleles work so I'm not going to bother explaining the rest. I just think it would be cool if two animals mated and their child had similar traits as them and their fur and stuff was based off their parents alleles. Some traits in this game could be: fur color, fur pattern, size and the mental-break level. Those are all of my ideas for traits. If you think of anymore then please share them. I was also thinking about movement speed and attack damage, but that would be very hard to implement because it would require a system overhaul so I'm 99% sure that won't happen.

So a raid happened, and the raiders dropped in a room in my mountain base. They started a fire and I killed about 2 of them so they started fleeing, but they had nowhere to flee. There was a huge fire in the room, but I decided to put out the fire so they wouldn't burn to death because I wanted them to starve to death. They didn't even fight me much when putting out the fire , probably because they were so grateful for my mercy. Little did they know what would happen... Then, out of nowhere, a toxic fallout comes. We are trapped in the base with little food so my colonists were starving. I was forced to kill the raiders, who were still trapped, and then I ate them. That's the story of how my colony turned into insane cannibals and torturers. http://imgur.com/dZOIRZX oh, and we also keep prisoners in a room filled with corpses until they starve to death.

Ideas / Event-Friendly Settlers On Your Map
July 16, 2015, 08:15:37 PM
Friendly Settlers On Your Map- 5 passive characters come and make a few buildings on your map. Their settlement will get bigger, and every once and a while they get a new member. Sometimes enemies will arrive just to raid this settlement. You can choose to kill, capture, or let these settlers make their own colony, but they will take resources on the map, like wood and animals.
Hostile Settlers- These settlers are hostile towards you. If you came near them they would attack you, and maybe they would even go on the offensive and assault your base. They would even attempt to steal your supplies. Like sieges, but they have no mortars and also plan to stay and make a base.
EDIT: Wow, so many replies. I feel great.
