I don't seem to be able to select more than four areas for setting restrictions for animals. I have made a couple of extra ones on the area management panel, but I just can't choose them for some reason. They won't appear on my list when trying to assign them. I have Unrestricted, Home, Livestock and Dog Area, and then Manage Areas. I needed more because a fallout event just occurred and I wanted to put my animals into safe-zones. I have all of them available for my colonists. Is this a bug or are animals for some reason limited to locations?

Ideas / Procedurally-Generated Weapons?
September 04, 2015, 01:41:45 AM
This is something I keep thinking about more and more. I searched and couldn't see any other suggestions for it, so hopefully this isn't something that's been repeatedly suggested already.

While this is something I highly doubt will make it to the game, due to its large level of work required and the complexity of it all, I was still wondering if having randomly-generated weapons had been considered at all.
I've spent a long time playing Starbound and following along with the development there, and the system of having generated weapons from lots of different parts to create unique objects adds amazing variety and a true feeling that there are endless new discoveries to be made. I think this sort of element would work amazingly well for Rimworld and would stave off the potential feelings of stagnation when each new raid could bring along some slightly different weapon with interesting stats and sounds and effects. Also the potential for trade would become a lot more exciting and enhance the sense that you are in a galaxy populated by different factions and corporations each with their own take on how to kill things.

I'd love to hear peoples' thoughts on this!

For ages now I've really been wanting to give feedback and say that I absolutely love the music in this game, it is flipping awesome, and really sets the feeling and the tone for everything :) it's just perfect, especially the new additions! Huge props to the person(s) behind the score! You're doing a marvelous job!

Ideas / Brawler mood feedback
July 29, 2015, 11:00:33 PM
Hey there! I just want to say firstly that I absolutely love this game! Adore it, even! And I've only been playing for a short while, but it's just so addictive. The style, the atmosphere and feeling and everything, it's just wonderful, thank you so much for making it! :)

But one thing that's been a consistent annoyance for me is my brawler guy, Toddy. He's one of my starting colonists, so I've been having to do a lot of mixed-up combat with him, which has been interesting - working melee into my tactics and whatnot. But I really wanted to give feedback that I find the big constant negative mood-penalty for carrying a ranged weapon a little frustrating. I kind of just want to order one of the other colonists to slap him around and tell him to suck it up and deal with it just for a bit, because that enemy hive is something you don't want to go near. Just deal having to use that cool energy rifle for a little bit and you can have your sword back. But he keeps throwing a tantrum about it and approaching a violent breakdown just because he can't have his pointy stick.
I feel that it's a little too mechanical and inorganic in how it's represented. Maybe it would be better if he had that mood penalty during combat, or post-combat, somehow.
I can't help but try and roleplay a little and I feel that the other colonists would tell him to just stop being stroppy and carry his rifle for the time-being.

Haha, sorry to unload to such a degree but I feel really involved and invested in this game right now :D

Anyway cheers, and I hope this game keeps going for a really long time!
