General Discussion / Strange Rimworld dream I had'

So the other night I was playing the game late and thought , Damn I better get to bed I have to be at work in 6 hours. So for about two hours I just laid there kind of awake but still mostly asleep and I had this dream about Rimworld.  In it I was building walls and such and then someone needed an operation to remove mechanites or something done.  Instead of the doctor just performing the surgery , the doctor got in a submersive suit with bigh claw arms on it then shrunk to microscopic size . a new sub map like set up camp might make formed but the map was the patients body . The doctor then started moving through hallways that were really the patients body and fought off the mechanites. It was reaaly strange but I immediately woke up and thought wow that would be a great mod.  lol  . If you ever saw the movie Inner Space or Fantastic Voyage  it was like that.

Is there a limit to how many females one male animal can impregnate/ egg fertilize? It seems like there's no limit to me as I have 1 male iguana and a back up male and around 60 fertile females with another 50 or so female infants. I'm not sure how the system works though . Does it take time for them to fertilize a female so it will take several days to get to them all? Or do they just have to be close to each other ?

Can we please go back to saving worlds so if we get a map we don't like we don't have to quit to the main menu and generate a whole new world even if it uses the same seed?

Ok so I was thinking after seeing the set up camp mod and the cave biome mod that it should be possible to spawn holes on a normal map like geothermal vent which, if you find one and build a ladder you can make an event where a little pocket map spawns (like set up camp). You can then set up an expedition down like forming a caravan and go down where you enter a cave like biome with cave type stuff , new monsters, mushrooms , gems etc.   :)

Ideas / A hate of Infestations as is

I hate infestations as they work now. I have to turn them off in the scenario editor every time. I like the idea, but its a system that punishes you for not making a mistake. What I mean is , it is not a mistake to mine rocks and metals , but if you do you'll eventually get an infestation and even a small infestation comes equipped with a lot of bugs. The only type of preventative measure you can use to combat this is to plug up any rock roof type cell with a wall which makes caverns useless.
By contrast , a system that punishes you for making a mistake , such as building wooden walls , will rightly so punish you by burning your base down from a electrical fire, flash storm , pyromaniac. In this case there are things you can do to counteract some of that like building stone walls, not using battery , pathway barriers to fire , foam poppers etc.

In my opinion  infestations would be better if they appeared anywhere on the map , but gave you time to react. For instance , you could get a warning somehow , like maybe an infestation was going to appear somewhere and animals would retreat from that area, or you could research a seismograph which could detect upcoming infestations. Or don't give a warning but lower the initial bug count to a few megascarabs, so if you notice it you can deal with it , but if you don't you'll have a bigger problem.

Is it possible to use a specific kind of corpse (or meat ) in a recipe. Like an elephant corpse ?

Is it possible when doing a recipe like butchering to get the corpse back?

Is it possible to raise the stack limit ? I've looked but can't find really any modifiable mention of meat in the core XMLs

Will the option to turn off incident mass animal insanity make it so while hunting an entire herd of caribou wont seek revenge ? Because I'm done playing the game if it isn't unless that crap can just be modded out.

I can't remember  , was Insects spawning from overhead mountain only a feature implemented in A15?

Is it possible to ,without assembly files , through research have a building behave slightly differently like the way you used to be able to make turrets shoot more and nutrient dispensers work more efficiently

If that is impossible , without assembly files , is it possible to through research have a building disappear from the architect menus ? Like , researching a more efficient sunlamp which would then remove the old sunlamp from the build menus to prevent seeing the old and the new sunlamps.

Is it possible without assemblies to have a building like art or each colored light effect each colonist differently?

Here is a fun mod I made that adds a few new fun surgeries to your medical arsenal

1: Install peg arms .    Just like peg legs only now more fun .

2: Install Paingiver.  A more fun variant of the highly unnecessary Painstopper.

3: Install Heart plug. A more fun way to euthanize people !

Are there any mods that make curing diseases a little easier? I'm getting tired of good colonists dying because either they were the only good doctor or too much stuff happens at once and I can't even get them a BAD treatment.  Its really making me not want to play anymore.

Every world I've created has been at minimum half ice sheet and tundra . The rest is usually mostly temperate forest.  Are these Icy worlds the world generator working as intended? I've never had a world with only a small Ice sheet and tundra percentage.

General Discussion / Am I using vents incorrectly?

They seem to be completely useless

I have a 2x2 room with a heater and a cooler in it and on either side a 2x1 room with a vent to the center room . All 3 have small wooden beds .  The 2 small rooms show hardly any effect from the center room ever, especially during a heat wave or cold snap.

From what I've heard and seems to work for me is that a cooler can cool a room up to 60 squares big before you need a second one. I assume heaters are similar to that. So if the vents were working , shouldn't thos 3 rooms , 8 total squares be easily heated or cooled by 1 cooler or heater?

I have to be doing something wrong , or these things are just useless
