German Shepherds make appearance to most movies and games over the other breeds and they are not in RimWorld! Shame!

I got upset when the pre-alpha previous version couldnt support my save files so I was wondering now, I am using Alpha 1 , will the save file of Alpha 1 be supported by Alpha 2 too?

I dont like wasting my time doing from scratch so...

If you know where this pic is taken from, please dont start fanboy arguements..

Anyway, they should be rare melee, found in Special Traders and pirates.

A colonist can take it to protect himself. If colonist has 10+ shooting and melee, he will be able to wield weapon with riot shield like that pic shows, too!

If the riot shield has taken a huge amount of damage, it will break, colonist/pirate will dump it and continue to fight with weapon or with fists unless he was armed with weapon.

Huge disadvantage is, colonist will barely move fast while carrying riot shield. So be careful.

General Discussion / Incompatible Savegame file?

I downloaded the new version of the game and loaded the slightly old savegame and it keeps loading or says is incompatible...What?

Why is this happening?My friend also experiences this...A nice built colony with many colonists...And all these end up a failure?

I think, updates should be monthly, I dont want to start over and over from scratch every....week...

I keep losing against numerous raiders, I have 4-5 colonists with little to no weapons and raiders come, armed with grenades and explode my colony...Autoturrets are completely useless due to Rate of fire and there is no tech upgrade for them.

Yeap, burst fires from 3 to 5, is a good addition, but still, it will fail to stop a raider. They also get destroyed easily! Even if you fortify them with sandbags, they will instantly get exploded in seconds...

If there were even more and more tech upgrades for them such increase damage and rate of fire, it would be better...


I am still waiting to add more Security(Or "Defense" for better sense) buildings be added to increase the protection of your colony. Such add Bunkers, where raiders cannot kill colonists in it but can damage the building and collapse, killing colonists inside, or more turrets such Mortar Tower or...Watchtowers, increasing the range?

So,cmon, tell anything about this...The worst of all is, every update version, you cannot load an slightly old map...

Thats soooo good thing, I finally got my copy and played it! But I was wondering how can I update the game when new version has added?There is no Auto-Updator or anything else updating program like Steam...

So, how do you update RimWorld?

Only 2 hours left and then we will receive the copy of game!Well..If we are lucky though...


So who is happy receiving the "finally, a long waiting" game, huh?

I was wondering how do you actually stop or prevent mental issues?I have seen most playthough videos and noticed most of them, show characters to have early mental issues...The cause could be the lack of food or what?

I saw some videos and read wiki as well, and I noticed that RimWorld has huge lack of melee weapons.There is only one melee weapon which is risky and useless I guess, : Fists.

I am adding some ideas for melee weapons...

Knife:
Damage: 25
Recharge Time: 2 seconds
Found: Uncommon. From raiders or around the planet.

Baton:
Damage: 10
Recharge Time: 1.5 second
Found: Common. From raiders or around the planet.

Fork:
Damage:15
Recharge Time: 2 seconds
Found: Uncommon. From raiders.

Chainsaw:
Damage: Instant death(By ripping head off or torse)
Recharge Time: 5 seconds
Found: Rare. From special raiders(Unknown if will be added)

Pencil:
Damage: 5
Recharge Time: 0.5
Found: Common. From raiders or around the planet.

Rock:
Damage:10
Recharge Time: 2 seconds
Found: Common. From raiders or around the planet.
Survivors or raiders can carry only 10 rocks.

Hammer:
Damage:20
Recharge Time: 3 seconds
Found: Rare. From raiders.

Screwdriver:
Damage:10
Recharge Time: 1.5 second
Found: Uncommon. From raiders.

Ideas / More Turret Types

A Machine Gun has already added in-game.Unknown how much damage it does, neither rate of fire...

Lets just think the Machine Gun turret damage is 5 and rate of fire is Normal and its Health is low as well.Now lets add more turret types!!! But I forgot if turrets has cost of...food?Or metal?Nvm.

Mortar Turret:
Damage: 15
Rate of fire: Very low
Health: Same as Machine Gun turret, low
Range: 25% higher than Machine Gun Turret, but the shells of mortar turret will miss to hit a target.
Ammo: 4 shells each reload.
Cost: Nothing

Tesla Turret:
Damage: 2
Rate of fire: High
Health: 10% lower than Machine Gun turret.
Range: Same as machine gun turret.
Ammo: Cant explain. It needs Energy. Tesla's shooting will last 3 seconds. Reload will take 5 seconds.
Cost: Needs research. Its ammo counter can be researched as well, increasing the tesla's shooting to 6 seconds.

Freeze Turret:
Damage: No damage at all
Rate of fire: Very low
Health: Same as mortar turret.
Range: Same as machine gun turret
ABILITY: Will spout "snows" to ground, slowing attackers.
Ammo: After 1 snow ball spouting, it needs 5 seconds to reload.
Cost: Needs research after Tesla turret's research ones. Can be researched to reduce the reload of snow balls spoutings.

What if the kickstarter of the great game, RimWorld fails to meet its expectitions?Cancel the development or put it on hold?I bet this game will easily get approved on GreenLight...

When I watched the game demo video on youtube, I immediately started to hype it..Thats because of Prison Architect engine,model and the gameplay.


Now...I bet this game will challenge with prison architect...I dont know..

Never mind, anyway, will this game ever enter alpha version? Because I think this game will be long, you have to survive, find survivors around the map,recruit them, defend against, find parts for turrets, etc...


So...Will this game really enter alpha version?Thanks for any reply..New to this forum..
