We can all agree that in vanilla game, the peak of technological progress is a set of power armor. The way to get there? Through Flak pants, jackets and vests. After playing this game for so long, I became tired of using the same armor over and over again - no variety in content leads to no variety in gameplay. This is exactly the reason why me and Trunken decided to create an Armour Expansion!

Vanilla Armour Expanded is part of a series of mods expanding on everyday life on the Rimworld. When paired together with a brand new Vanilla Weapons Expanded and Vanilla Apparel Expanded, you can bring something to your game that will keep you interested in it for days.






Armor is spread across several new technologies that need to be researched which in turn adds valuable game time before you achieve everything there is to achieve. New items cover all technological eras, from wooden armours of neolithic tribes, through chainmails and chestplates of medieval kingdoms, bulletproof vests and ghillie suits of the modern era combat all the way to two, brand new variants of a regular marine armor - one of them with an integrated ranged shield belt!



Pawns go bold when wearing a ballistic goggles - this is currently hard coded into the game and I have no way around it. I recommend using [KV] Show Hair with Hats mod to get rid of this problem:

A: At the time of writing, the patch is being worked on and can be expected in a few days.

Q: Do these armours spawn on enemies?
A: Yes, these pieces of apparel have necessary tags to spawn on all the pawns in the game.

Q: Can I request a feature?
A: Yes, please use "Requests" discussion board.

Q: Why is your mod special?
A: I am a vanilla player. Anything that doesn't suit vanilla game makes me cringe and I stay away from it. I did however find the game lacking after some time, therefore I've created these sets of armor to be as accurate and as close to vanilla graphics style as possible. What is special? The best part is - nothing in this mod is special at all. Nothing will make you go "Oh that's unusual", because the whole purpose of this mod is to blend into the existing game.

Q: Is this mod save game compatible?
A: Yes, you can add it and remove it whenever you like. Bear in mind that if you add it to an existing save, you need to update all the stockpile settings to include these items.

Q: Do you accept commissions?

Q: Will you keep updating this mod?
A: Yes, but not often. I have worked hard and for a long time to make a list of armors that I'd like to see added and I have added them. If some feature request catches my attention, I will add it. Q: Raiders wearing ghillie suits have their name removed and I can't click them!
A: That's a feature, making it harder for you to spot them on a map.

After a hundred hours playing RimWorld you notice that every pawn wears somewhat the same things. The base game apparel is not really as interesting, unique and various as I would like it to be, hence me and Trunken have decided to provide you, our audience, with 40 new pieces of apparel!

Vanilla Apparel Expanded is part of a series of mods expanding on everyday life on the Rimworld. When paired together with a brand new Vanilla Weapons Expanded and Vanilla Armours Expanded, you can bring something to your game that will keep you interested in it for days.





Apparel is distributed into several new technologies that need to be researched, expanding the life of the game and possibly leading to some interesting choices - research a way to get off this planet? Or maybe learn how to craft jeans and workwear?

This mod adds a wide selection of apparel with useful effects, including but not limited to:
Gas masks protecting from toxicity;
Jumpsuits and aprons for work speed boost;
Doctor scrubs and Chef's uniforms.



Pawns go bold when wearing a scarf/glasses/gasmask - this is currently hard coded into the game and I have no way around it. I recommend using [KV] Show Hair with Hats mod to get rid of this problem:

In my eyes, RimWorld weapon system was always in dire need of expanding. With weapons lacking in all eras (no axes for tribal warriors, no muskets or crossbows for medieval colonies, little variety of weapons for industrial era and barely three different spacer guns), I have finally decided to take matters into my own hands. With experience in imitating game's simple art style, me and Trunken have created a collection of 47 new weapons that we found could be useful, interesting and balanced.

Vanilla Weapons Expanded is part of a series of mods expanding on everyday life on the Rimworld. When paired together with a brand new Vanilla Apparel Expanded and Vanilla Armours Expanded, you can bring something to your game that will keep you interested in it for days.





Weapons are spread across the technology tree allowing for realistic and time-consuming progression, making the higher-tech weapons even more rewarding. Bear in mind, however, that all weapons are perfectly balanced in line with Vanilla weapons, which means that a Battle Rifle added by this mod might not necessarily be better than a standard assault rifle in some situations.

Additionally, thanks to the help from Kikochi (co-author of The Forsaken mod), several vanilla and modded projectiles have now been enhanced with new effects!





This mod is not compatible with my Apex: Rimworld Legends mods due to the fact that it adds the duplicate weapons in some instances. Please, choose one or the other.

With Halo anthology coming to the PC quite soon, I thought it's the perfect moment to revision the vanilla game power armor. I have found it quite versatile, but not quenching my "late game thirst". Additionally, I wanted a sense of "pride and accomplishment" from doing quests, something unique that cannot be obtained any other way. This is how Spartan Foundry came into being.

Rimworld: Spartan Foundry is a vanilla power armor expansion adding 9 new sets of advanced, end-game power armor. A set of Powered Assault Armor is craftable in very late game, requiring Ship Computer Core technology and an AI Persona Core. The other 8 sets of armour are NOT craftable and can only be obtained from quests and raids. The armor sets contain advanced glitterworld overshield technology, capable of absorbing several shots before requiring a long time to regenerate. Each armor set provides different bonuses and elements can be combined to suit every rimworld colonist.

Armors also come in several colors which are randomized upon the creation of the item. Most common colors are the standard power armor shades of grey, however colors like hyperweave, devilstrand and plasteel are also included alongside many others.



Rimworld: Spartan Foundry comes with following armor sets.

A: Yes, they should be added to the available item pool when spawning raids, but they are very rare.

I'm a graphic designer and an amateur programmer which roughly translates to a perfect modding material, however I never had the strength and patience to actually sit down and learn how to mod my favourite game - Rimworld. I was always worried of a new update totally destroying my hard work with new game mechanics, however since 1.0 got released, the update possibility dropped substantially. This was the right time to create my first ever Rimworld mod, so go easy on me. I always found the vanilla game to be lacking in variety. Don't get me wrong, it has everything it needs to be a very fun game, however it could use some new animals, weapons, technologies etc. With a release of Apex: Legends, an idea came to my mind - why not put both of these games together in a form of a mod?

Apex: Rimworld Legends is a vanilla-friendly weapon expansion adding over 20 new weapons to the game, all based on Apex: Legends weapons, but renamed into more general weapon types. VK-47 Flatline became a Bullpup Rifle, Wingman became a Hand Cannon and Mozambique is still useless. The graphics, sounds and statistics of these weapons are meant to represent unmodded Rimworld, with no weapon being overpowered or "Out of character". Charge weapons have been expanded allowing for extra variety in combat, no longer forcing players to use a Charge rifle in late game. A new tier of late game weaponry has been added called "Mechanoid Weapons", which becomes craftable after researching Johnson-Tanaka drive - One of the last available technologies before leaving the planet.



Following weapons have been added to the game. Bear in mind that the statistics of these weapons will be constantly tweaked according to players' feedback.

Mod bugs / Can't start the game

Earlier today I was playing just fine. Now when I try to start the game, it just crashes immidiately. Not the typical crash on save loading screen, but a crash before even accessing the main menu. I am attaching a crash log - all I can understand is that it ran out of memory - it didn't do that before. Where did I make a mistake and how can I fix it?
I did remove the irrelevant information from the log, let me know if it was relevant after all.
