Hey all,

I've being playing Rimworld for a long time with some self imposed rules
and started streaming that recently. The rules are:

- Tribal
- No equipment other than one tribalwear
- Start in the middle of the Ice Sheet
- Hardest difficulty
- 1 Pawn
- No Mods
- If the starting pawn dies, I restart
- If the starting pawn leaves the planet, I win

If you like seeing one pawn being frantically micromanaged, come check me out on youtube or twitch.
In my current attempt, I was able to get to electricity and hydroponics

I posted the start of my current attempt on youtube : https://youtu.be/2ImDleT5_qc
You can watch me live on Twitch at : https://www.twitch.tv/paulopermadeath

Hi everyone,

If you're like me and like surviving in -70 temperatures as a lonely tribal, you're life has become a lot easier now. If there is a hive nearby, your main issue is that megaspider go in shutdown mode around -50 and do not maintain the hive anymore.

Thanks to doors staying open so your enemy can follow, you can easily lure them away from the hive, watch the door shut behind them. After they have left, build some nice walls around the hive to keep the heat in.

Enjoy watching your megaspider friends being nice and toasty in their small room ready to share their insect jelly with you

Hi,

If an insect passes out after going into hypothermic slowdown, it stops doing maintenance on its hive. You can recreate this by having the temperature go below 40 celcius for along time and wait until the insects passes out. Then box him in with the hive so the heat starts rising again. After that, the hive slowly dies because of lack of maintenance

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to survive as a Tribal with only a sword and some tribal wear on an ice sheet.
The problem is that I keep running out of food. I usually start at a location with caves so I can get the insect jelly, but the problem is the hive dies around -28 degrees.

To counteract this, I lured all the insect away from the hive with insect jelly, and trap them inside a small prison by building a wall behind them while they eat. When they are all gone, I quickly build walls around the hive with some doors included. I then release two insects and have them tend to the hive. As the hive creates its own heat, it will be protected to temperatures up to -60 degrees.

I've only happend to pull this off once, so I was hoping someone might improve on this.

- One of the biggest problems is you need to kill the insects still trapped as the others won't do maintenance as I think the once who are trapped try to do maintenance.

- The room size should be about 9 tiles as you can still walk past the two insects to get the jelly

- You can create the insect jelly bait by having your pawn eat insect jelly with a full hunger bar, so it takes only one, then draft and forbid the insect jelly.

Is having your base getting attacked by a bug hive part of A17?

General Discussion / Bringing Art to Raiders
October 12, 2016, 02:14:44 PM
Being fed up with building barbaric contraptions such as killboxes and other traps, I decided to try and reason with the Raiders by creating beautiful art for them.

In the picture below, you see a raider discovering the art I have created for him. You can see tears in his eyes as he realizes he never wanted this life and feels like he was forced into it.
The art shows him there is more in life and he quickly decides to leave me alone and take the art to admire it more in the privacy of his home.
