I don't want to break my mods so I'd like to avoid the "update required" that is currently plastered over Rimworld in my Steam library. How do I launch the game without getting the update? Hope someone can help with a few tricks and tips to circumvent it.

I have power armor researched, where do I find the the bill to craft it?

Where I have looked (thoroughly and multiple times without finding it):
Machining Table
Electric Smithy
Fabrication Bench

My pawns just keep wearing their heavy fur parkas etc all summer including during heatwaves. I have plenty of camelhide stuff, cloth etc. They develop heatstrokes but simply just keep their parkas on... to manage it I have to manually force heat resistant gear on them, and that really stinks. Why can't they go put on some gear that are just a tad bit appropriate instead of walking around in heavy fur parkas during a 55 degree celcius heatwave....?

I have made an outfit called "heatresistant" that excluded parkas. But that doesnt stop them from wearing bearskin pants etc, only the parkas are stopped. How do you guys manage this???

Packaged Survival Meal not counting towards "Days of Food", is this a bug or am I misunderstanding something? Fine Meal works fine in comparison.

While battling a bear my shotgun guy ran in front of my sniper girl and got his left kidney shot out as a result. I'd like to replace it, so come next dinosaur men raid I have opportunity I think. But how do we actually remove the kidney and place it in friend pawn?

I noticed one of my builders suddenly bringing Fine Meal to pig 11, which I found odd since there is lots of hay, kibble etc available everywhere. The pigs live in a pigsti with hay all over the place and the pigs are allowed all over my fields so they can haul. So I inspected the pig that my pawn was headed for and it turned out it was missing all of it's hooves, ears and nose. So it just lay there in it's animab bed in a corner, incapacitated. According to the log it fainted due to hypotermia 10 days ago. :-[

It seems to me that the ligthning suspiciously often hit my fields setting them on fire. Am I just unlucky?

Calm animals should not set off traps, but these boomrats keep on setting off the traps blowing themselves up because they die. Is this a bug?

General Discussion / Sappers blow up walls in no time

Sappers = instant wall destruction. I just was hit by bandits with 1 sapper, he just beelined for my wall and instantly destroyed it, then proceeded in and destroyed the next wall too, I think it took him around 30 seconds to destroy 2 walls. it's pretty brutal on chilax builder difficulty. Lost two of my really good people, also due to the sapper throwing grenades that of course hit me right in the head, ouch that stings.

But on to the question, how do we deal with these sappers when they can just instantly blow up any wall like that?

Dear god, juts noticed Jack the pig whose master is Mace, got shot by the bandits and therefore turned into a manhunter and is now attacking Mace who is in return trying to kill it.. sob sob. And Hitomi, losing her daughter, went on a Psycothic wandering for 12 hours, still wandering.

I think I just have to remove walls at key places and make narrow pathways that are open into my base, but plastered with traps?

I had a faction request 88 components traded for some other items. Then that same faction comes visit me with a trade caravan and I buy 55 components from them. Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Because using an electric standing lamp is a serious fire hazard due to the risk of electrical faults 8)

EDIT: think I know what happen now. The hay is not destroyed, it gets teleported to another tile it seems. There's some hay on an animal bed next to an egg, that must have got there by teleportation to make room for the egg.

I noticed in my chicken coop, where I have stockpile for hay that when they lay eggs and it happen to be on a tile with hay on it the hay will get removed from game, it simply disappears. I tried making a stockpile in there just for eggs, and also tried to clear some tiles so there is nothing but ground there. Additionally I made animal beds for all animals and they do sleep in them, but I have yet to see them lay eggs in them. None of this prevent them from laying eggs on tiles with hay thereby destroying it.

This means that laying five eggs can result in the destruction of up to 1000 hay (5 stacks of 200 each), which is quite excessive. Of course I can just make more hay fields... but surely this can't be intentional?

Is there any way around this bug? Im assuming it's a bug.

Hi im new to rimworld and after playing for a little while I found some annoying inconsistencies and missing features in the base game that it's difficult to keep playing with. So I have read that mods can fix several issues and add features etc. But I struggle a bit to figure out where is the best way to find mods? Is there a central location or mod database?

For example I heard the Achtung mod can help me prioritize work in just a custom radius (for example to easily have colonists prioritize cutting blighted plants, instead of sleeping all night while the blight spreads everywhere...). Where would I find the current and updated location for getting the Achtung mod?
