1. What the circumstances were.
The colony I started a vanilla playthrough (Base Rimworld + Royalty) on the latest version of the 1.3 Tesbranch. The colony was not the best, and the pawns likewise were not the best of the best. I do not know if there is a core change to how pawns work, but their behavior appears to have changed with regards to tantrums and I am not sure if it is something that was intended or not. I did not see this change in the update log at least.

2. What happened.
The pawns eventually throw tantrums. In this version of Rimworld, they seem to last at times for DAYS.

3. What you expected to happen.
I expected the "insult" tantrum for example to last at best for a few hours. Now it seems to last for days. The same goes with the "Sad Wander" tantrum. The later tantrum would last usually until the pawn went to sleep. Now, in both cases observed at least, the pawn will get tired, go to sleep and then arise to insult or sad wander some more. They also eat occasionally.

4. Steps we can follow to make the bug appear on our machine.
Have a pawn throw a tantrum, either naturally or with a command. Observe the time and actions of the pawn in question.

5. Savefiles
I do not believe a save file is necessary due to it being replicable in new save files

General Discussion / Steam EULA
February 05, 2017, 03:24:17 PM
I read the EULA today. I am curious as to a few things. The first of which is that it states that there is to be no commercial use of this product. Does this in fact make it so that YouTubers will get a strike filed if they upload videos on this game? More importantly, is Ludeon now a nation? The way that this EULA called for me to file complaints, or as to how the law worked in regards to Ludeon, it seems that the company is claiming Sovereign status. I do not know how Dominion law works entirely, but I was fairly certain that companies within it did not have the power to make their own law. I am not mad, just curious as to if this is a change to Ludeon's official policy in regards to videos. Moreover, I think perhaps the EULA needs its wording tweaked a bit as I am not sure what laws the company claims to be filing and upholding in regards to their copyright.

   Hey Everyone,
Since mid-month last  I have that that itch. You all know the one. You hear a rumor of a new Alpha being imminent in arrival, then it begins. You dust of your last colony and start to make a list of mods that you "need". Then you actually read some of the change notes for the new Alpha and realize that the mod makers are going to need a while to settle into the new changes before they will be able to roll them out. You sigh and vow to make you first colony in the new Alpha last longer than your last first colony. I usually try to make it last until at least the D or so re-release of the Alpha to give everyone time to get them up, but you get the idea. The period before is the worst. You look at the forums each day for news and hope at the same time that a wonderful Owl has come to visit your mailbox with a demented package filled with cannibalism and now incest (we hope)!
Lord Tynan will gift us some time soon with the blessed (damned) 13th addition of RimWorld. Soon our lives will be filled with the gleeful sequels of animals slaughtered, colonist immolated, and pirates rendered for their juicy, juicy meat once again. I currently sit forlorn, awaiting the return of the madness of crash-landing, to arrive a new and permanent exile from the Glitterworlds of legend to the the desolate rock where a new band of survivors destiny will be forged (okay, their brutal and comical demise). Noone gets out alive, but in the journey to build a machine to get to space, we will sacrifice nothing to build ourselves a new and more complicated traps to defend this future machine, only to realize that now we do not have the resources to build a machine for everyone. That's right, the joys of resource management. Sometime after you get it all sorted, that wonderful evil mechanoid attack proves what a fool your plans were and gg.
Alas I still dream of that moment, but soon fellow starfarers, soon. 'Til then join me by dusting off your favorite Alpha 12 colony and making your list for the future for which no list could ever prepare us.

Help / [A12D] Ouan's Modlist of Awesomey Awesomeness
October 05, 2015, 04:18:40 PM
This is my first attempt to put forth a for public eyes modlist. Please bear with me and my inability to make it all look pretty right now. I will credit all the mod authors properly ASAP. First I will list all of the mods that I currently use, then put  up the proper initialization order, which is very important as these mods were not optimized for one another. A small, very small, amount of manual tweaking is involved at the end. But, you would not use mods if you didn't want to be a modder yourself right?

1. The Downloads*

Note: do not get hung up over mod versions. These mods all work for A12D even if they are labelled A11. There are enough similarities to make these mods work for you on A12D all tweaks needed will come in part 3.

2. Mod Order:
After each of these mods are downloaded, time consuming as it is, the fun of initializing them begins! Unzip (rar, etc) each of the mods and move them into your 12D mods folder, which should contain your Core mod already. If you have any mods already in it, remove them for now so that they do not confuse the issue or contain older versions of these same mods. Most every one of these mods are plug and play so after initialization, there are very few manual tweaks to be done to have everything play nice together. Because I have not made a "modpack" these files are as the makers intended them to be. If people like these mods together I may seek permission to do so, but for now I am sharing what I currently use.

1. Start Rimworld
  2. Click on the Mods button
   3. Initialize EdB's mod Order mod and exit to the main screen.
   4. Go back into the mods section and the load process will reappear in the new EdB's format.
    5. Now load the required mods in this order so as to minimize conflicts:

/

  6. Snap your fingers and wait a minute for Rimworld to finish with the modloading. You are almost there!

3. Slight Player Tweaks to make everything work properly.

   1. Turn off autopop ups for errors. Unoptimized mods will spark a few. I have learned to ignore them as long as the game works.
   2. There is a conflict between the UI mod, Glittertech, and animal surgery. There is a simple fix. Read this link and implement. https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=16000.45 . The corrected files are the first post in the Glittertech page linked next https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=5509.660.
    3. With the UI mod on, the animal helath tab will not show the operations tab. The fix is really easy: Open up the menu after loading you colony (hit ESC). Open up the Interface Options Tab. Turn off the health tab. Then close out to the game and enjoy animal surgery! Unfortunately, you will need to do this whenever you load the colony, but five seconds of work is worth robo doggies, no?
   4. When I was talking about things I forgot to mention that the EPOE patch for cyberstorm is an override. You have to unzip EPOE into the mod folder first! This was derp on my part that I figured out whilst trying out my own instructions. You ONLY need the compatibility Download which will give you the entirety of the base mod plus the modded body defs file. Simply overwrite the EPOE file with the appropriate modded one and it will replace the changed files for compatibility. Silly simple now that I have thought about it.

EDIT: Removed Skullywag's Expanded Fabrics from the list. It duplicated the effects of T's Expanded Cloth. If you use one, using the other is mostly a no no. Fixed the link to Orion's Hospitality mod (had wrong mod linked).

Support / Upgrading Game Package
October 10, 2014, 11:50:57 PM
An Aeon ago I purchased the game. I just want to know if there is a way to give you more money to upgrade the package or if I would need to buy a whole new package so that I could write an in-game character. I hope this is the right spot in the forum to write this message. I have had a blast playing this game to date and would love to give the game a little personal flare. I have not seen this question so far; so again I hope this is the right spot. If not please direct me to the right spot. Thanks in advance!
