As the title somewhat explains, I find it both counter to "RP" and frankly, a bit annoying that colonies which have a darkness preference will still refuse to have caravans travel at night.

The sun is supposed to be blinding to these guys yet they'll only travel under it. Furthermore, having caravans always travel only by day means that there are massive conflicts with sleep schedules when preparing caravans, a basic trade run at a settlement half a day away will take a whole day and a half just to pack for. Finally, this has major issues when attempting any quests due to the combat in darkness precept. I will almost ALWAYS arrive in the morning thus meaning I will ALWAYS be incurring a combat penalty, unless I want to waste a day waiting and crossing my fingers that my pawn doesn't break and walk directly into the enemy's line of fire.

This is somewhat of just a blind rant but I really hope they'll patch in the ability for ideologies with the darkness meme to make caravans travel at night, this seems like a pretty big oversight considering how many overworld quests this DLC has added.

Alright thank you! Oddly enough Prison Labor was already after Hugslib and I didn't expect it to work but the screen actually turned grey right when I loaded the save upon removing the Prison Labor mod.

Continued to run game after screen turned grey and I got repeated errors until I was unable to interact with the UI of Rimworld at all and had to close the game externally.

This doesn't seem to be a bug, though it does seem that the AI is being a bit silly. Essentially, raiders tend to heavily target your pawns and prefer to get to those pawns by utilizing any unobstructed routes. There are 3 tunnels that lead to where your pawns are now, one is blocked by your own door, another by stone, and the third (though a long way around) leads straight to your pawns without any obstructions. The only issue is that this supposedly "unobstructed" route is infested, which the raider AI does not take into account. Thus, they're funneled into the bugs almost every time. Completely normal Rimworld behavior though!

Confirming that I also received the experienced the exact same bug as the one described above.

I am have this exact same bug and likewise I do not have royalty installed. If I could speculate, I'd imagine not having Royalty bugs this quest due to the fact that Spacepods and those mechanics are a feature tied to Royalty I believe.
