I always imagined this as a possible final goal for the game. Design and build a starship in your colony to escape the planet. There could be special high tier walls and furniture for this, as well as expensive fixed components (engines, lives support and so on) that have to be part of the space-ship. There is already code that detects if rooms are closed and such, so I imagine the technical side of this is not that complex. Once you finished building your space ship with all the required components, you can take off and "win" the game. The player could then be rated on the wealth contained in the ship and the game could give a score based on that. There could even be various outro texts that describe the fate of the colonists and how successful the escape goes, based on the quality of the ship, supplies on board and so on.

You could also have him excavate the huge dining hall you always wanted, hoping the collapsing sealing gets him. Oh dear, there are frighteningly many way of getting rid of unwanted colonists.

Cheap idea: Death of another colony member should always give penalties to the rest, maybe even depending on how long the deceases was part of the colony. Different death scenarios could result in more or less sever penalties. When people start starving to death this should severely discomfort everyone. Dying "heroically" in battle might still make people sad, but if someone dies in combat without being drafted the colonists could not blame it entirely on you. Death penalties could generally have a pretty diverse range.

Hello everyone. Great game you mod here.

I try to run this on a netbook and well... it's not a very pleasant gaming experience. In about a month I'll have access to a better rig, but for now I wonder if smaller maps would make it run less laggy and if someone could provide a mod that offers smaller map generation options (100x100, 80x80...?). Would these sizes actually work ingame?

I had a look a the safe file, but deleting hundreds of tile entries seems not really feasible, specially with the way they are ordered.  :-\ I can see that this is a pretty personal request and that people might have better stuff to do, but still, looking at how little optimized the game currently is, this might also help other players.
