Translations / Re: [Translation] Dutch
July 06, 2014, 05:36:25 AM
A quick heads-up to all you who play with the Dutch language settings:

I did not have enough time on my hands (from my side) to translate everything in Alpha 5 to Dutch.
I am working as fast as I can with the limited time that I currently have to translate everything.
Once that is done I will upload the translation to a place where you all can reach it.

I recommend playing with the language set to English until I am done.

Sorry for the inconvenience,

Geeves.

When translating you need not translate every word individually, but instead translate the intended meaning.

So for growing(plant/crops) you need not translate it to a word that describes growing but the meaning.
I did this with the Dutch translation, and wrote down "aan het groeien".

Can I ask for screenshot(s), a save game and the Auto saves of this save game?

I'd love to see some screens with this. Maybe we can then help you find why it does not work for you.

Do note you need Meat and potatoes/agave/berries to make fine meals.

There is an info button on the trader that tells you the weapon details.
Currently there is no way to get weapon details without a trader present.
Only they are smart enough to tell you what you want to know about a weapon. :)

Of course there is the out of game Wiki you can have a look at.

It makes me speech-less.
I know, lame pun.

I have used 3 by 4 rooms before, bed in the middle and boom room is cramped. I went to 5 by 5 rooms and everything was alright.

Ideas / Re: Improved overview menu
May 30, 2014, 06:41:16 AM
That might actually be something interesting to see improved.
Currently as soon as you hit 8+ colonists it does get a little cramped in the overview window.

If I might make an addition to this one, allow me to ask for more priority numbers.
There are more skills now compared to Alpha 1, being able to prioritise a little stronger would make a nice difference.

I would also suggest wider corridors and larger bedrooms to get a nice bonus to happiness by removing the "cramped" thoughts.

Not to play spoiler, but erm...

1) Metal will be used less in alpha 4, or at least with the new wood economy, I will most likely use less metal.
You will also be able to turn the slag as well as the new mechanoid raiders into metal.

2) The previously mentioned mechanoids can be a nice test to your defences.

Do not worry, a lot of changes are coming and they will directly impact your colonists and their idle time.
Alternatively, you can order them to do something useful instead of watching them idle. After all you are their commander, you command they obey.

Geen probleem, met Alpha 4 komt er nog meer dat vertaald is. Meer dan wat er in Alpha 3 mogelijk is.

No problem. If you have troubles finding all the cool toys currently in the game...
Wait till next month or so, when the next patch hits the game.
You will get so many new toys to play with!

There's a solution called don't use turrets and use manpower instead.

It was to facebooky. No one likes things to be facebooky.

On topic:
I have got 0 issues with power outages either due to solar flares or eclipses. Though some flavour would be nice
I wholeheartedly agree.
It still is obnoxious if your stoves don't have any power and your guys get a mental break because they have to live off strawberries for a day. Sometimes I think I'm managing a 5 star beach resort and not a colony of hardy survivors.

"Oh noes, only strawberries and no ice cream to go with them either!"
"My room is too small!"
"I have to share my bedroom with a person I trust with my life every couple of days!"
"The carpet is dirty! Where's the maid?"
...

xD

Keep a little surplus of meals, build bigger rooms, assign only one colonist to a room and make a maid (colonist with highest priority with cleaning).

Never had a mental break because of solar flare or eclipse.
+1 i really wish there was a like button

SMF have such a functionality. I dunno why Tynan switched it off...

This is a feature in Alpha 3, it is called the "Do until X" bill.
To get this working:

1) Select your crafting table of choice (yours is the cooking table).
2) Create the bill you want (normal, fine, luxurious)
3) Go to config, and select the second button, the one under suspended/Not suspended.
4) It is initially labelled: Do X times, set it to Do until you have X.
5) Sit back and relax, worry about some other base related issue.

Hope it helps you,

Ser Geeves.
