If your having trouble with sappers use a artifact to turn the Grenadier insane, they'll turn into normal Raiders.

so Gameband is coming out in October and already Terraria and atari are signing on with Gameband.
if you don't know what Gameband is it's a smart watch that:
A) lets you play minigames of downloaded games, ie: Terraria, pong, etc.
B) saves a portable version of the game that you can plug into any computer and boot up the game.
I always used to carry Rimworld on a USB stick and play it anywhere I went. I thought it would be cool if that was turned into watch form as it would let people play Rimworld anywhere.
anybody else agree?

General Discussion / Re: clearance/cramped changed?

colonists get NO mood change from thier bedroom. the only thing you can hope to add is impressive bedroom mood buff. for me though a 2x2 square with a large bed and a door is enough. they NEVER get angry because the second they enter the room their mood freezes, and after they finish sleeping they are immediately leaving the room. i find its a waste of space and resources to give colonists a good room if they are NEVER in it, and when they are their mood wont change.

Ideas / Floor qualties
July 17, 2016, 06:29:25 PM
from what i can tell, almost all the floors give 100% move speed, and the only real difference is how beautiful it is. how i see it is there are 3 qualities of a floor:
movement speed
cleanliness
beauty
if a floor is really good in one, it should lack in the other two. as such it gives us good variety and options to use in different scenarios. living rooms could have beautiful floors, whilst hallways can have fast floors. my suggestion is that the current floor options are re balanced or new floor types are added that incorporate this. that way people could have more options, and more variety, instead of always defaulting to carpet.

PLEASE balance the cost of the batteries. bigger batteries should be a bigger investment but should be cheaper. so it should be:
                             COST          POWER STORAGE
small battery:         10 steel          150  wd
medium battery:     50 steel          1000 wd
large battery:         200 steel         5000 wd

but instead the current system is unbalanced. what is is currently is the small batteries give you the best pay off, which just dosent make sense.:

small battery:         10 steel          300  wd
medium battery:     50 steel          1000 wd
large battery:         200 steel         3000 wd

meaning it takes 20 small batteries to make a large one, yet it gives you double the power storage for doing so. i know there are components but even adding the components, the small batteries are the most efficient. please fix this.

Why not add the Prepare Carefully customizing functionality to vanilla like the colonist bar? It only makes sense. I guess I won't play Rimwold until that happens or some other modder picks up development on this. :(

i felt the same way with a13. i didnt even touch it until prepare carefully was updatd. but now that edb has retired, i may have to leave the game for awhile in hopes for that when i come back, a version of prepare carefully will be created.

i don't mind negative reviews, and i usually only read negative reviews when going to buy a game, but rimworld as is, has 5 negative reviews to hundreds of positive, and the negative reviews don't even have proper criticism. in my knowledge negative reviews are supposed to reflect what the game developer can do to better the game but hasn't yet or won't. none of the negative reviews properly do that.

i agree that these should just be combined. if someone is bad at crafting and makes something shoddy, it should start at 20%.
both variables make huge impacts, but it would be easier to manage one of them rather then two. if they were combined, obviously a slower deterioration rate would be needed.
also this should be a suggestion thread.

for me the game is almost unplayable without prepare carefully. modders, get on it and make a new version!

I'm disappointed with the scenario editor. Its no where near as clean and organized nor as complete as EDB's prepare carefully. They had some time to get this right and I dont understand why the ball was dropped.

Balance.  EDB's Prepare Carefully made it too easy to cheese the early game.

its your choice if you want to start with something good or not. the game is almost unplayable though for me without prepare carefully. id rather not sit there for two hours randomizing still feeling unsatisfied with my starting colonists. also you can now start with whatever you want which means the only cheese would be how good your colonists are. which keep in mind prepare carefully did not at all remove the randomize option.

i originally wanted to calculate if it was worth it to grow haygrass to feed chickens to get eggs, or if i should just grow more potatoes and rice.
