Namuras,
when you use linux normaly you should be able to install python and all of the submodules like bs4 too.
And when you use window's why you don't use the window's executable instead ?

see edit... i had a bad case of stupid. if i can't spellcheck...

While i appreciate the effort put into this, it seems getting your script to run is a pita. I somehow cant get bs4 to install on my machine and therefor the script just shuts down.

edit: nvmd i had a bad case of stupid

Cropfields: i start with a variety of 5x5 usually and expand from there on.

Bedrooms: 1x3 with a good bed. The little bastards are not supposed to idle in there. Tho i am likely to upgrade them in  the 2nd year or so.
I'd rather have a nice central room  and crafting areas than impressive bedrooms.

Batteries: I always include a battery room... even tho i am not dependent on wind / sun anymore. It's just nice to have some backup...

Fridge: my current fridge is 23x11 with 2* 1x1 supports and kept at -9°C, it is overflowing atm since i panicked once and made too many cornfields.

I'd say they are random... sometimes you get multiple in a row / at the same time, sometimes they seemingly never appear. The later happens regularly when you need stuff asap. :D

Anyone having problems getting the turrets to fire at anything?

I tried both the manned and AI turrets. They do not ever fire at anything... When manually asigning targets they track hostiles, but never shoot.
Could it be b/c i am running it with combat realism + defence?

Started a new colony and the first new pawn was a wandered joining, a medical Lord his entire life, who refused to do any form of work besides hunting or art. Since my part time hunter was more than enough and I didn't care for art when I'm struggling to make enough food and build shelter, he got the firing squad treatment

I had the same guy show up at one of my colonies... together with "hard working" and "fast learner" trait... he boosted impresive 18 points in both shooting and melee. I kept him and he does nothing but craft art all day :P Good income aswell.

Just make them all breed. Any that are too old become your attack force. And if you get attacked, you can "draft" all but one or two young breeding couples.

How old is too old though?

How on earth do people keep their chickens fed?
I didn't watch my Hen and Rooster for a while and surprise surprise i had around 200 wandering around and starving.
When i supplied hay to them, they would just vacuum it up in an instant...
Luckily a lightning strike and subsequent fire put a good deal of them out of their misery and trading all but 10 away did the rest.

But this leads me to the question: is it possible to use eggs as an efficient method of sustaining a colony?

I think that's a "no" I had ~460 chickens and nearly lost a colony because they were eating all my grain.

Guess chickens are only good at beeing a "fire and forget" tradegood then. Since getting 30 something silver for a 2 month old is pretty good.
