I set up a dumping ground where I gather all the corpses. Either surround it with stone walls and/or concrete floors and colonists will gather corpses there. I don't bother with stripping the corpses and I'll only make sure to gather any guns above normal quality.

After all the corpses are gathered just toss in a molotov and let them burn. Make sure the corpses dumping area isn't in your home zone.

Ah. I remember the days when Tynan used to update a changelog daily. Those were the days.

Taking their members' lungs, kidneys and clothes before taking one final organ to kill them and then burning their corpses with Molotov Cocktails is what makes them hate you.

How dare you make such accusation.

I merely take their lungs and kidneys, then, in exchange, I'll upgrade their legs into wooden variants and give them a free denture. And then I release them so they may live on. Really, I'm getting the short end of the stick here.

Nope. I think it primarily uses crafting when picking work order. But it says it uses crafting and intellectual.

Edit: Yup, I just double checked. It requires a minimum craft and intellectual skill of 4. No mention of the doctoring skill.

Just kinda makes more sense for doctors to make medicine. Personally, I'd also like doctors to focus on that instead when not doctoring of people who can craft and have a relatively high intellectual skill.

Right now it uses Crafting and Intellectual.

If you set a stack of food to forbidden, colonists will still haul to it, but not eat from it.

This means once you have ONE packaged survival/pemmican/insect jelly, you can forbid it and pawns will still stack more onto it while hauling, but won't eat.

They don't always haul it to the same stack for some reason. Maybe it's just whenever they stop doing the job (for rest, food, whatever) and resume they'll pick a new spot in the stockpile to place the stack. So in the end you still have to keep an eye on the stockpile if you don't want caravan food going to waste.

It's been a while (during the unstable) that I used packaged survival meals but in my experience colonists won't eat them unless they're out of all other food. Seems they prefer lavish to fine to simple to packaged. Nutrient paste seems the least preferred though I rarely use it (only when it falls from the sky) and never use pemmican so that could be lower.

So you use Pemmican for your caravans?

Was he running from something or was he recruited? My experience so far has been that they'll avoid traps if they can

Yeah.

The problem is, when making packaged survival I need my cook making a bunch of it for long trips so my cooks will need near continuous access. And I'd just rather have like an assigned eating list or something like the drug restrictions.

When you get a caravan request for an item you should be able to send the item in a transport pod to complete the quest.

General Discussion / Question: Restricting Food

Is there a way to restrict what food your colonists eat?

I want to reserve packaged survival meals and pemmican for caravans but colonists will just end up eating them if I don't restrict them. I'd also like to just sell insect jelly instead of letting all my colonists get sick from it.

I'd rather just order it and let it happen than having to babysit all the food and restricting it whenever they make new piles.

You could just build a nutrient paste dispenser in your prison and uncheck the "prisoner gets food" option. It's what I do

I just have my pawns surround it and then open fire. When it starts charging have the one it's attacking run away from it. Rinse and repeat till dead.

I only get about 2 melee people per colony. Maybe more if there are some really skilled brawler

General Discussion / Re: Mining for gold

You could trade for it? Craft some statues out of stone or some other abundant resource and sell them for a profit.

Vein mining for gold can be difficult since they don't appear in large pockets like Iron does.
