Almost certainly Unity (or my machine being messed up somehow for Unity).  I tried Cities Skylines real quick which also uses Unity.  Same issue.  Rats. :(

I recently upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 (64-bit).  I was getting an access violation on Rimworld 906 (see attached files).  But, when I run it in compatibility mode for Windows 8, it seems to work again.  Now, I was only able to test for 15 minutes or so tonight (early work in the morning).  But, I was wondering if:

  • Anyone else had the issue?
  • If they do, does compatibility mode solve it?
  • What is the source of the error and can it be fixed? (I suspect it is buried in Unity so, probably not by us?)

Ideas / Re: Allowed Area -> Copy from Home Area

How about just copy and paste between areas (home or allowed) like stockpiles?

My Wolfsies event is broken on A9.  Anyone else experiencing this with the current version of the mod?  Or, did I mix in a mod that disagrees with it? :)

Also really happy to hear that this one is being updated.  I really like the Embrasures, Vents and Laser Drill from this one.  Thanks for all your effort Jaxxa.  :D

It would be nice if we could separate butcher and cooking tasks in work priorities.  But, that seems like a much deeper change to the core game.  Would it make sense to combine butcher and cooking tools?

Ideas / Re: What do you want in alpha 9/10?

How about an option to strip corpses headed for the butcher table (or crematorium if you are feeling all civilized). It could be an option within the bill perhaps? When the raids get bigger, running around stripping all the corpses becomes an ugly chore.  Takes a lot of the fun out of the later game after the 10th huge raid if you survive.

Can we get some input from Tynan as to what the intended setting was?  This might even be worth a hotfix.

Very cool.  I used to create corridors leading from my main areas to bedrooms.  Then I just started chaining bedrooms to eliminate the wasted space of the corridors.  I guess I am now back to corridors to minimize chaining vents.  Funny how strategies change. :)

Maybe also in roof regions, if the roof can be removed?  Useful when trying to remove roof in mountainous terrain.

It is really a crippling bug for folks that want a long-term colony.  Eventually the raids get big.  I already lost one to insanity after beating the raiders.

Nice job.  I really missed this mod in A8.  Although, I have to admit, the hides from hunting are awfully useful now.

Thanks for the work Hunter712.  I really like your version. :)

Yeah. I finally got a nice colony going in the tundra after a few failed tries.  Then, this just ate my lunch :(.  Makes the long game almost unplayable as the raids get bigger and anyone who tries to cleanup goes insane.  This really needs to be fixed in my opinion.
