So I started a new scenario with the rich explorer, and the first two or three days were quiet. A wanderer joined my colony everything was fine and dandy. I got a raid notification, and since this was the first one I was like "Sweet, free pawn!", couldn't be more wrong. Just before the raid i got a crashed pod so i took the girl that landed and I put her in the prison. So the raider survived but she got an infection in the torso, if she hasn't gone berserk and started punching the crashlanded girl, she would've survived. The pic will explain...

I don't know why but my colonists still sometimes prefer raw meat over simple meals, sometimes they ignore fine meals, and go for the berries and such. Forbidding is out of the question, my cook works all day to keep population afloat.

It seems that I have a problem with the colonist portraits at the top of the screen, after a while it just disappears and i can't pinpoint the exact moment. The issue isn't carried over to other worlds, but after a while it disappears there too. Reloading the game isn't working, and loading the previous save fixes the problem for a short time and then it's gone again. Am I just stupid and there is a shortcut to hide it? Maybe there is a way to force it to appear via developer mode?

Nvm just found it, for anyone concerned it's a new button under the time controls.

Since we will be seeing marijuana (unless Tynan renames it for legal purposes) in the stable A15, i thought we could have a separate strain which could be used alongside cotton as hemp for clothing. As far as I am aware Anno 1404 managed to get away with it being named hemp.

i have a bit of a balance gripe today after starting something new. I rolled an amphetamine addict on rich explorer scenario, she started with a single fix which is fine with me. What i think is a bit weak is the withdrawal, after about three or four days she was completely clean of her addiction. Personally i never took drugs, but I am a smoker so I know how hard it can be to let go of your addiction. Just something to keep in mind while balancing the new alpha. Cheers :)

I don't plan to look through the whole thread to see if this was already addressed, because it's massive, but i think the sun lamps' wattage usage should be nerfed. Seeing as in the unstable A15 (although i know it's subject to change) the Ground-penetrating scanner is supposedly requiring huge amount of power to run, but i stands at 1500 W which is 100 W short to a sun lamp.

Love the new alpha but i am a bit concerned about disabling melee hunting. I does't affect me too much since i like to micromanage and draft in order to hunt but i imagine some don't have that kind of patience, killing small game could potentially be a pain in the ass too. Also i went out of my way to check if you can roll an incapable of fighting colonist during the tutorial, it seems not to be the case which is rather nice. Overall i love the update, keep up the good work.

So i picked up the game recently and so far I am having a blast. For the most part I've been screwing around and feeling out the game. So today i decided to do my first serious colony and since Randy seems the most fun i picked him on rough.

I went with a default 5 person tribe scenario, and before shit hit the fan i had 8 people total, researched electricity and solar power, good supply of food, survived my first winter, even managed to fend of an insect invasion with kiting and a single scratch. So the worst part was when he decided to throw about 15 tribals against my 4 capable of fighting and 2 huskies. Managed to come out on top with my top constructor dead, and some major wounds.




Could have handled it if he hasn't decided to immediately throw a battery explosion to the mix. During firefighting two of my tribesman go burnt pretty badly one of which was my main doctor. And if that wasn't enough, after the situation "settled" i got hit with toxic fallout. They're pretty much dead now, too much infections. Tried to amputate my main doctors hand because the infection was spreading too rapidly but i had critical failure - my secondary 9 medicine doctor sliced her kidney... Also the fun thing that happened right after the raid was a social fight over an insult between the patient and the doctor, while she was trying to save lives he broke her radius and then went to play horseshoes, collapsed and died. After all that i saw no point in carrying on, but it was fun nonetheless. Definitely going to try this again. Honestly stories like this make this game awesome.
