Ideas / Just a couple of ideas/suggestions.
April 16, 2017, 02:46:00 PM
Okay, so i've just really gotten into Rimworld again lately so please bare with me! I've looked through the first 3 pages of suggestions and i can't seem to find anything about these things.

Gameplay suggestions -

Assigning worktables - Assigning specific pawns would be a great addition to the game, so my best crafters don't use all their time making stoneblocks or smokes. And seeing as you can already assigning beds to specific pawn how hard would it be to be able to do the same with workbenches? (This have been discussed before, but i can't remember the answer to the suggestion so feel free to ignore if it can't be done)

Prisoner doors - The name says it all, doors that prisoners can use. I seem to remember that there was a mod that did that at some point in the past. Don't know how hard it would be to add to the game.

More options with milk - Being able to make cheese from milk would be a cool addition to the game! And also being able to make chocolate would be awesome so that would be a great addition, maybe make sugar and cocoa beans trade goods.

Scares - Shouldn't scares fade over time? I'm not talking scares on the eyes or missing body parts, but scares on arms, legs etc. I know that my scares don't hurt me anymore, and i have a nice collection of them! So would be a cool little addition to the health system. Or maybe just make the pain factor disappear over time as scares do hurt less the older the scar is!

Wort - Making wort should give cooking skill! Maybe just a bit, but it would make sense if it gave some.

Cleaning zone - Change the snow clearing zone to a general cleaning zone, that way your pawns won't run around trying to clean everything in the colony, including the dirt/gravel and so on.

Plant Cutting - Also shouldn't Plant cutting show that it uses and gives growing skill?

Game options -

Ability to set borderless fullscreen in the options would be awesome. If there's a way to do it yourself then please tell me how!

Be able to set your own hotkeys would be really nice! It could speed up some aspects of the game. For me atleast. But it's not a important change or anything like that. But i could be really nice.

That's all i had i mind, so please discuss, critic etc.

Loving the mod, don't think i can play without it any more!

I was just wondering if you where planning on adding some option do deal with those annoying scars your colonists sometimes get/start with?

I know there is another mod that gives something to take away anything that is qualified as a scar.  It is in Skullywag's Miscellaneous mods - https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=14177.msg146397#msg146397.

Ahh thanks alot! I can finally get my colonists scar free and pain free \o/

I don't know about Z-levels, but i wouldn't mind if just guard zones where added. Places where you could tell your colonists to stand guard against animals or intruders.

Including other colonists bringing them food and that you can make som kind of guard cycle. So you can play
better without improvised turrets.

Something like that. Would also make alot of sense to be able to tell your guys to stand guard.

Ideas / Temperature setting for Clothes!
June 04, 2015, 05:37:46 PM
I was just thinking it would be very nice if you had a setting on clothes so that you could set it for your colonists to change if the temperature changes.

So lets say you have a heatwave going on, your colonists would strip down to pants only.

Or that you're playing in the Tundra setting and the temp passes -10 degrees celcius they'll change to parka's!

Just a quick thought, let me know what you think!

My favorite colonist was Bob the Oaf, growing at 18, medicin at 8 and also a fair shot. He single handedly kept my colony alive for the first 7 years or so, both with his growing skills but mostly with his medical skills!

Fair enough, but i think that maybe make it an option and not a feature would be a good compromise, because some people might want it on, but i think just as many doesn't want it.

Or just call it melee damage, not as much fun i know, but would make a bit more sense :)

Fog of War wouldn't make the game better in any way, it would make hunting next to useless and also increase the micromanagement with a huge amount.

Maybe there's a little learning curve with Rimworld, but it really shouldn't be a problem for them to learn to play, just teach them what to do, and the just let them play on their own when they know the basics! It might take them a month or so to get a hang off, but it's well worth it!

I normally do 1x3 room, 1 tile for the door to the room, and then 2 tiles for the bed. Bedroom sorted ^^ Leaves plenty of room for other stuff in the fortress.

I really wish he would implement a "level terrain" or "drain land" tool to re-enable us to reclaim marshes and lakes. Heck a building that generates bare rock instead of farmable land would be preferable.

Or simply allow us to use stone chunks to reclaim it.
