Imagine being stranded on radioactive planets and needing to live inside with vent systems or die.

Guard Duties, Guard Patrols, And Military Job

We can draft people, but our draftees cant live, and if we leave them long enough they starve to death:

But some places I NEED a guard, so just enable needs for soldiers that are met in a reasonable fashion (like when its urgent, with maybe settings for Discpline levels or training levels that determine how effective people are at their jobs. And give them "Military/Drafted routines for the days" so setting up a patrol or a guard station, will automatically take anyone who is drafted, otherwise they will go to any available bed and use it as a barrack and walk around with their weapon out doing a passive simple draftee job.

So to recap:

1. Add military orders, guard/patrol path.

2. Allow people who are drafted to live.

Ideas / Add more RTS elements
June 04, 2014, 11:51:23 PM
I was playing my game in dev mode and it occurs to me that this game could rival that of C&C 3, but with waaaay more depth.

Look at this colony:

You may thing nothing is special but I didnt get that big naturally. I understand there is a set theme for this game but maybe this is an idea modders and the Dev should hear out. Naturally more technology can be gained, but what if you can hire forces for your side and even manage them ? Like forces in orbit, or in other parts of the colony in special buildings? Or even vehicles!! All researched and built.

We could building structures that give bonuses that are called from the Security tab:

1. Air Strike:

2. Drop Ship Troops:

3. Drop in buildings from orbit pre-built, or even supplies grids (large amounts of supplies that cover an extended area):

And these are just a few, this idea came to me when I was testing a bunch of warring factions I spawned on one map with zombies, and I had to wall off my base just to survive and manage my supplies/weapons, even though it made it easier it wasnt easy. I think this game's RTS element isnt being explored enough yet. I hope modders consider stuff like this but I think Tynan should consider it.

If this can be determined by crafting skill, that's awesome.

It can, and it can also be an expansion, or an extensive mod depending on what support Tynan (The Lead Developer) adds for the game.

So now you'd need:

1. Death tiles, or tiles that can be given a non-livable state. Which can be a modified form of fire particles.

2. Safe Tiles, or tiles that have the capacity to shift between safe state and death state based on the grid of safety in a region, such as checking its neighbor and checking its neighbor etc. This is beyond me technically speaking. But totally possible. And is already done, or else fire particles would consume you everywhere instantly and the game I believe handles things in cell regions per tile.

3. Vacuum damage/Zones, Atmosphere zones. You can now simulate vacuum of space via empty tiles in space (or space tiles) and even events, so characters are pushed into empty space tiles from non empty space when adjacent without a barrier (window/wall,grate/obstacles of certain type such as giant robot or group of people)

As for map transitioning and the simulation aspects, they could be small features at first, as if you read the changelog, Tynan is shown to add very awesome features in good time. Who knows what this game will be like in another years time? It sure as hell isn't the scam that most kickstarter games are now adays, and I wish Tynan had the mountain of money Blizzard has to make it even more amazing. Same for games like Kenshi, and Sui Generis. Etc.

But yeah it'd take work, but how much depends on how you approach it. When you come right down to it, video games are moving pictures to sound with calculators.

At first I thought this game was a headache because I kept dying all of the time but now that I found this I am able to enjoy it as a true sandbox. And even make my own content on the fly. I hope you consider not removing this.

Check out my village overrun by zombies an mercs. I sent in a special ops team to save some VIPs......

i guess some dont want to see any cheats allowed for anyone even if the game is singleplayer and for the life of me thats just strange.
