My toplist
1. Project zomboid - loot, survive, craft. I find loot aspect rather fascinating. Also it has a lot of content and mechanics. Playable through multiplayer. For that one who finished vanilla there is a Hydrocraft super mod. Like RimWorlds Hardcore SK
2. Cataclysm DDA  - same as PZ, but 100 times more content and hardcore. Like Dwarf Fortress compared to RimWorld
3. Factorio - epic game. Main idea - you build factory that do all work for you. I like producing, belts here. And you have even trains and liquids here.
4. Kenshi - rimworld in 3d. Less content, but cool swords and stylish graphics/atmosphere. I like fights there and ability to travel across the world
5. Dwarf Fortress - king of colony building games. Unbeatable and unstoppable. Spend months of real time there.
6. [RIP] Gnomoria - one of the best DF with graphics
7. Shelterred - another loot and craft game. You have a base and get loot from expeditions.
8. Battle Brothers - cool mercenary simulator. Nothing with Rimworld, just waiting for Bannerlord)
9. Kerbal SP - cant play this (my best achievement to orbit Kerbal). But love to watch how my friend play this rocket science (literally)
10. Ark Survival - big 3d survival game. I like to breed and catch, and here you have Dinos! And you can ride them! And some of them can even fly! And Ships! And underwater! And dungeons! And constant updates.
11. Rust - MMO survival. Nude, hardcore, brutal, unfriedly. When you feel that your life is too easy.
12. Dont Starve Together - cool game, more arcade survival with a lot of challenges. I dont like creepy atmosphere but cool to play with friends

Generally I found that better to skip all indie games that do not survive at least 2 years. Extended modder community is also good indicator of good indie game (Hardcore SK, Hydrocraft, Prophesy of Pendor, Bobs mod, KSP mods)

In very late game you again switching to power arm for half of your workers that do not so much work speed things (wardens, hunters, haulers, cleaners, animal handlers, builders and growers (last 2-3 if they often go outside - I have devilstrand fields, sometimes thumbo to tame, pastures and some line of automated defences and lines to slow down attackers)).

So you use them as militia to fight. + 1-2 professional snipers + 1-2 brawlers (usually they go with maces to tame berserks or prisoners, sometimes fight raids/insects inside base)

And in late game even power armour + bd shirt has enough damage reduction. And with reflect chance this allow rise surviability of your pawns compared to clothing (see my tables before).

Also in late game heat can be also a be a major problem from different sources

So I use cloth set only for workers and usually use power armor always when I can get decent, because even superior power armor better than masterwork/legendary duster+armor vest

We are talking about natural degradation by wearing clothes, not absorbing damage

Power Armor has 400 HP - so it is more durable even than sum of separate pieces, so it is advantage in battle.
Also it worns and get damage from explosion less (if explosion not treated as heat hit with all layers logic)

I made google sheet to compare sets
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1lWsmj0aJ1B46MUrDS0HSf7zVmOWH12J48fEKPenlBS8/edit#gid=720220736

You can copy it and edit

Some results (average sharp damage reduction)
Legendary Hyperweave Sets (1 for armor vest, 2 for power armor)

Set           Torso   Neck           Shoulders    Arms   Legs
SET Vest   96.4%   83.6%   83.6%   83.6%   81.1%
SET Power   89.8%   89.8%   89.8%   89.8%   83.4%

Masterwork Devilstrand Sets
Set           Torso    Neck   Shoulders    Arms   Legs
SET Vest   88.2%   52.2%   52.2%   52.2%   50.5%
SET Power   82.1%   82.1%   82.1%   82.1%   77.6%

Generally Power armor has advantage during fight (legs and arms protected let your pawns stay in line)
And Vest boosts death surviability (your pawns will be downed without legs/arms, but torso will survive). Also they still can be accidentally be hit and they contribute less to fight, because of higher arms/legs damage

I prefer Power Armor

I see some mistakes in math.

  • You forgot about T-shirt under power armor
  • Reflect shot chances not summarise accross layers, but multiplies chances not to hit

So correct math should be
Cloth set
T-shirt + Armor Vest + Duster
Damage dealt = 17.2% (82.8% damage reduction)
Hit chance = 98%*90% = 88.2% (11.8% reflect chance)
Average damage = 17.2% * 88.2% = 15.17% (84.8% average reduction)
Armor HP = 100+160+140 = 400 potencial damage treshhold

Power armor set
T-shit + Power Armor
Damage dealt = 50% * 68.8% = 34.4% (65.5% damage reduction)
Hit chance = 66% (34% reflect chance)
Average damage = 34.4% * 66% = 22.17% (77.3% average reduction)
Armor HP = 100 + 400 = 500 potencial damage treshhold

Also as mentioned before - low damage reduction (with higher reflect chance) have draw back that your pawn can loose body part. Better to take a lot of small hits distributed accross all body part than get your hand shot off by chance.

Please note that advanced calculation should count damage sustaining over time. Because after first shot your clothes will be damaged lowering their protection. I dont know how losing HP of armor effects its protecting capabilites
