Mods / Re: [mod request] defens turret's
August 26, 2017, 03:11:04 PM
so you want guard towers? or just mannable gun emplacements. the mod listed by VauntedPixels contains "gun emplacements" that are mannable non powered turrets that your pwns can use, they have good range and are borderline OP depending on what other mods you are running IMO, but they sure are fun.

your post makes it sound like you want something more like a tall guard tower that improves the range of the weapon the pawn is holding though? I don't know if that exists in any current mods.

Mods / Re: [Mod Idea] Play as the story teller

Cool idea but to be blunt it will never happen - because making an AI good enough to essentially play the game (in an interesting enough way to make it worth watching) would likely require better AI than the most advanced available in the world currently - and probably a neural network supercomputer of some sort....

not really, just out of our scope. AI to play rim world would be far less work then most real world applications, just good luck finding anyone to do it for free.

I like that supply and demand idea much better then the straight silver. it could even be tweaked possibly so that if you dump a years worth of food on a settlement with a freezer (probably don't even need to go that deep, just make sure they are at the tech level for a freezer) that they aren't going to want buy food at good prices for a while (why would they, you just fixed their problem for a while) same could be done with pretty much any good and weighted differently depending on what kind of good it is.

Mods / Re: [Mod Request] Weapon Degradation
June 15, 2017, 02:15:36 PM
there was a mod in a16 whos name I cant remember this second, it added combat damage to things like melee weapons. so guy hacking at eachoher would break their weapons, and drop them when they got to a very low durability so they could be recycled/repaired.

as for things like guns I always just figured that while they were on their person they were just preforming all the basic maintenance and cleaning to keep the weapon from degrading to much. modern m16s in a clean environment can go  1000 rounds before issues, and guys aren't firing that many off a day.

this is the worst is idea any one has come up with bionic dicks there is already a mod for that
O_o

I always assumed, but yeah i didn't need to know there was a bionic dick mod. The way OP here puts it though he seems to want to turn the penis into some sort of addictive drug, like some sort of super sex dong, that or i am missing a comma or something.

If the creator can release the source we can figure out how to update. i'll tried to search on this forum but seems there is no source available.

you can grab the direct mod from the mod page here and crack open the assembly.  but I would ask the author first.

it also look like Kiame has updated it to a17 and uploaded it as well according to the thread.

I've updated RimFridge to A17 and uploaded it to steam.

If Vendan wishes me to take it down I will.

searches on sites like this are mostly outdated junk. try using google to search only this site using things like search operators.

https://bynd.com/news-ideas/google-advanced-search-comprehensive-list-google-search-operators/

example:

<site:https://ludeon.com "prosthetic" or "medical">
(remove <>)
in google will only crawl ludeon.com domain for the word prosthetic or medical. search operators are your friend ;) if you already did that then you can ignore this. its just good to know.

In general though I just stick with EPOE and "A dog said" the second one give you more medical options for animals.

Mods / Re: Is sound designing of any use?
May 25, 2017, 12:30:53 PM
There is a modders discord from what I hear, I sadly don't have the info for it though. perhaps someone else could pass it along to you.

QuoteOnly conditions I have is that unless the mod is specific to being centered around sound, it should under no circumstances limit the experience in any way for deaf people otherwise than what is inevitable. So for example, if you have this awesome designed event where you think that warning the player with mere sound (instead of a pop-up message) is a great idea, I'd be happy to do it, but you have to make it an option to also include the pop-up message for those who can't hear, because it might make the mod otherwise unplayable for them and I would feel bad if that was merely a consequence of my own proficiency.

This is actually a really good design attitude and I just want to take a second to openly commend you for it. Ever since rim world got me into learning coding I've been very interested in designing games that are as accessible as possible, and I cant resist reading articles about different peoples approach to things like blindness and deafness in video games.

Help / Re: Problem with meal recipe
May 19, 2017, 01:03:04 PM
I have found that error normally means something is wrong with your ingredient filter code. When I attempted to make my own recipes for the machine table it would pop the same behavior if the ingredients were not listed correctly in the filters.

Here is a thread I discuss it and another member Granitecosmos shows some alternate routes to making recipes in A16. hopefully that can help you out.

Mods / Re: More Realistic Diseases (request)
May 19, 2017, 12:09:53 PM
I think rim world could benefit from a few contagious diseases, right now the system seems isolated and unfinished. problem is i don't think there is an existing framework for that at the moment, so its would be a pain to mod.

Mods / Re: Late game mods
May 16, 2017, 02:36:12 PM
I find in the late game it doesn't really feel like you are competing with the other factions. they are just sort of in the background as you wipe the,m off the planet or ignore them. late game could be fun with a more complex diplomacy system similar to a 4x game once you start getting more then one colony and becoming a real player on the planet.

does this existing small paste dispenser not act like a wall section like the normal one?

The problem with hoppers from what i can tell is they are just pretty much storage racks with the name hopper. hard code in the dispenser (the vanilla one anyways) looks for the building "hopper" in the blocks around it, and then grabs valid items from it. so making a hopper that would play nice with multiple objects might be tricky. (someone feel free to correct me, i just read code right now not make any)

back to my original point, if its just a smaller dispenser, it should still act like a wall section and you can just build a little fridge room for the goods/normal hopper.

this sounds like an awesome mod to give power armor some more fun.

I think this is a "Progressive Sword" (well knife in this case)?

Wouldn't that be a vibro blade? ive never head the term progressive sword, was that the remake they called it that?
