Ideas / Re: Your Cheapest Ideas
June 10, 2017, 11:20:43 AM
I do not know if this idea already came up, but I think pawns with high social skill should be able to intervene during mental breaks - maybe with a fail/success chance.

Another idea I would like to see, is some kind of ingame statistic in the main menu, showing how many colonies one already started, how many of them succeeded and how long they lived. Don't know, if this could be seen as a cheap idea, however.

(...) But seeing your colony recover from a devastating attack is very satisfying to experience.

Those are the moments I mostly wait for. Had some awesome comeback moves, which are a big part of making the game interesting I think. Although, I sometimes do reloads, when the situation was just stupid or I did some very stupid things.

During my last tundra-colony I had a Manhunter Pack of Panthers (weirdly enough I think) enter the map together with Toxic Fallout and visitors (with something to trade) roaming around my colony (you gotta love Randy). First, the Panthers were on the Western side of my colony and the visitors in the south separated from the Panthers by a mountain. After some time, the Panthers found their way around the mountain and attacked the visitors, who defeated them without any real problems. I now decided to trade some items with the strangers and totally forgot about them afterwards.
As one has little to do during Toxic Fallouts, I checked the map for new game and other interesting stuff, when I found a dead pawn lying amidst many items near the edge of the map. My first thought was some kind of a weird bug, but then it struck me as I surveyed the items - it was one of the strangers, who seemed to have taken damage from the fight with the Panthers and that combined with the effects of the Toxic Fallout killed it. Luckily for me, it carried most items I had sold to the strangers and I could get them back additional to some other items and an excellent sniper rifle on top of it. Just Rimworld things I guess  :D

General Discussion / Re: Introduce yourself!
June 05, 2017, 02:48:07 PM
Hi,

just recently (two months ago) bought the game after my brother introduced it to me. Since I am a student and lack money, I do own a rather medium-budget-notebook which has not aged that well the last few months. So I am only able to play games with low system requirements and happily for me, Rimworld is such a game. I had my share of fun with indie games and some older titles the last few years.
Prior to my studies I mainly played RTS and RPGs, especially Starcraft 2, the Total War series, the Witcher series and the Elder Scrolls. Most embarrassing gaming-related story? That would be in huge parts the community of League of Legends I think.
What kind of breakfast cereal is the best? I mainly go with oat flakes (dunno if correct term), joghurt and apple in the morning.
