and.. she died of malnutrition right outside the town.

right before she died (And was just 'downed') a caravan arrived in her home town, and cargo was dropped (but it was drugs)

I did! He saved us! but we still filed and had to kill his mom when she attacked from a warring faction, then everyone died anyway, except Jennifer.... but it's just a matter of time

I decided to try the new Alpha in-testing version. for fun I cicked on the de-bug mode. I had no idea what it does (I really don't know what I am doing most the time, just playing and clicking random buttons it seems)

anyway, everyone is dead except for a rescued refugee. She is a model and refuses to do any work, so won't pick fruit or coo meals (but she will hunt with a skill of 0)

Jennifer decided to walk 1.6 days to the next town, with a boomalope corpse to munch on, some weapons to sell, and 283 silver.

who thinks she'll make it?

That's my experience too... I set the clothing assignments to minimum 50% and once I have a furnace I burn everything below 51%. I despise having that "worn clothing" warning on the side.

good idea. I usually sell off as much as I can, but still have a surplus that just takes up space that my people never want to wear.

I came looking for answers to this as well. They must have changed it. My peoples are complaining ay 49% (it didn't seem like tattered to me, but I guess they are all used to  fancy Glitterworld duds)

Man, you are a tough one. I play this for (maybe) years now and would have quit way before that. Nice job! Amazing story too! Sea Ice Challenge is what the most badasses like to try in order to die horribly. Basically, start a colony on the "Sea Ice" biome that is usually located on the northern pole of the planets. No trees, no animals, and under-zero temperatures all the time. Really tough shit

Ah, I think my son played that. He killed & ate all the trade caravans that came through.
I might give it a go.

Good story. Play the sea ice challenges if you havent, I think you might enjoy them.

I am super new to this- well, 3 months playing and no time to look into anything besides the basic 'play what's on the screen'. no mods or anything. I have only seen Pirate Gang. (which I like). How do I get the sea ice challenge?

Day #73

Lumi the hunter has replaced Cass the passive killer of colonists.
Lumi has been holding her own. One day she hunts, the next she cooks, the next she plants seds and builds walls.
She's working on taming an Alpaca.

She has defeated 2 separate raids.

Russel joined the colony. She was pretty good at cooking and could doctor as well.

Sadly, she was attacked by a timberwolf. Lumi ran to help, but was to late.

Day 73- down to one colonist.

again

I'd be happy if my colonist could put their own bandage on their own extremely minor cut.
They get food on their own when they ae hungry, Why can they do some simple 1st aid on their own scratches?

That's brutal man. I'll admit, I would have given up long before it got this far!
Its become a battles of the wills at this point.

Cass has been on her own for about a week now. She has fended of a raider. She cooks and hunts and constructs. She does everything except doctoring and hauling and being a warden. (wardening)

But her skill is too low to fix the cooler, or the stove- so she kills just what she needs& eats raw meat.

I suggested she make a campfire to cook over- but her skill is too low for that.

She's enjoying living on her own, for the most part.

Then the mad boomalope attacked. She is on the ground in need of rescue. There is no one to rescue her. There is no one to tend to her 4 infections. There is no one to bring her food.

she might die.
alone.

Karma for refusing to tend to her sick colonist friends.

Wait, here comes a refugee! Lumi! Lumi grabbed a riffle, shot her attacker, rescued Cass, then Cass died from her wounds that were left untreated too long. Lumi will now have to bury 3 people and see what she can make of the colony on her own

Day 51 on this God Forsaken planet. AI-forsaken, as well, I think.

Day 51 and 6 people have died.

I started with 3.

2 die, we get an escape pod. The new guy  refuses to do almost everything, but he does cook. eating is a good thing to do.

eventually we get our 3rd. Then the plague hits. The only person not affected refuses to do any doctoring. Or hauling (away dead bodies)

so, 2 more die.

another escape pod.

we now have 2 people and both refuse to social so we can't buy medicine from trading caravans. no one is skilled enough to make any.

more raids and random acts of death.
I forget who has come and gone.

I am down to 1 colonist (the one who refuses to do any doctor) and 2 corpses in her living area (because she also refuses to haul)

I thought about quitting and starting over a few deaths back, but I want to see how long the AI will send us escape pods just to kill them off again.

I am playing Casandra, Some Challenge, no mods

My almost-useless surviving colonist does have an elephant, untrained. The Trainer died right after she tamed it.

same here.

I have had so many iguanas die from liver cancer.

Forbiding the beer didnt work; iguanas can't read signs I guess.

I have to not-allow the beer storage areas for animals.
