Wow! Really good story. I was imaging Jim Raynor from SC II telling it to me, and it fits perfectly...

General Discussion / Re: Do Until You Have X

This issue is one of most annoying thing for me for a long time (and that shows how RW is perfect if this one is the bigger one), and the funny thing - a very little peolpe see it (I mean 'amount of', not 'dwarfs'). Most of all, people suggesting to check only one type - but it won't work. And all of them such a "O... ok.. I don't care...". And even funniest thing - we had to persuade Itchy to update his mod, cause even he wasn't able to see this issue. And thx the God he did it. The only goal we have for now is to persuade Abe to implement it into Superior Crafting ;)

O, Abe, good news for all of us! Many thx for your job, man.
But... "Forgive me father for I have sinned" - I was playin' a bit with Hardcore SK modpack. And I definitely will del it and instal the glorious SC mod, though I want to admit, there are some moments at HC, I want to see in yor mod:
* The first one is the ability to place air-conditioners and doors upon walls (for no reasons - it's just much more comfotable to play).
* The second thing is separate bills for dif stone blocks recipes. And I must say a few words here. You know that community of RW is wierd a little (in a good way). And there are many people with a perfectionism (some even at the edge of OCD), who like their bases to be perfectly made. And, generally, you prefer to have some stock of marble blocks for your sculptures (they're most beautiful), some granite blocks for outer perimeter walls (more stronger), and some limestone for inner walls (faster to mine chunks and to build walls). So that's the reason I want my crafter to keep the stock of 200 marble blocks, 500 granite and 1k of limestone walls. But I can't do it. And don't tell me of "you can allow only marble and set to 'do until you have 200' at bill-table" - this thing doesn't work (cuase it counts all of stone blocks at your stockpiles).
So that's my little cry. You can hear it or not - I'll play your mod no matter what you decide, but I don't think these little things will take a lot of your time to implement, and you can make the Rimlife of your fans just a bit easier.
And... Keep up the good work! Cheers!

What building/research do I need to make polymers and sulphates?
You have to research 'Mining', build a mine and collect some 'crude oil'. Then research 'ChemLab', build it and refine 'crude oil'. And you'll get all the stuff you need for a better life.

What stonecutting tweak allows you to do can also be done in the vanilla game. The difference is that with vanilla, you have to go into the bill details and manually set which type of stone to do.
My mod just lets you quickly set up a bill for a specific type of stone.

Oh, noooooo! You're sooo wrong, Itchy! Your mod lets us to STORE exact amount of EACH type of stone blocks, while vanilla separate bills counts ALL of stone blocks types in stockpiles. And THAT'S the difference we love your mod for. Cheers ;)

Abrexus, do you have plans to implement something like Stonecutting Tweak v1.01 https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=7887 to your mod? Yeap, It can make bill-list of crafting table a little bigger, but as for me, it is a cheap cost for such a needed thing?

So... I think you dont get the point of the poll just for one look. So let me explain my thought.

DISCLAIMER: The poll and following text may contain some agressive style, but it was made just to add some atmosphere. Im very peaceful and totally happy with Rimworld.

Go on. As you know, we live in Digital Era now and most of the things that surrounds us - they are just a combinations of 1 and 0. So what is a point of confrontation? In Rimworld, we have a typical 1-style model of almost everything. Just a few examples (with my comments to explain a point of poll).

1. Addin a new task to craft-table, we already have 1 product to make. But in 99% cases I have my bills in "do until you have x" style, and "x" there is set to product stockpile limit (10 for food, 75 for rare thing and 300/600/1200 for common things). And I always have to press "-1" button at the end. Also I must add new bills only on pause to prevent my crafter to stop his work and start making this new bill (even before I forbid to use valuable materials).
2. All the temperature-control units is set to 21 (u see - 1, not 0 :)). But makin a cooler-zone I prefer to use -5, -10, -20 etc temperature sets, so I always have to press "-1" button at the end. I know that 21 wasn't just a random number, but I think that pawns will still be happy to sleep in rooms with 20

So I just curious - is it just my abberation, or Im not alone and someone else is suffering of Rimworld-of-One and dreams of Zero-like-Rimworld?.. Say your word, community!

Sorry for my bad English and maybe not clear thoughts, but I guess you will be able to get the point  ;)

P.S. don't know will Tynan read this topic, but if he will: "Hey, Ty, I want to sincerely thank you for separating crafting jobs - I wine for it for a few alphas, and when you did it, I forget to say thx. So, thx again)"

It feels like it would be more of a Prepare Carefully feature because it really doesn't work unless you know exactly which colonists you're going to start with.  It's a good idea.  I'm not currently working on adding any features, but I will add it to the suggestion list.

Cool, maybe in next alpha? ;)

EdB, thx for your work. I have one idea you could be interested in. Don't really sure, what your mod it could be implemented in exactly, but I think it closer to Interface (though it is useless, when playin' w/o Prepare Carefuly). So...

Could you make an option to save/load presets for manual job priority? Cause I have preset for "PC-mod", but every time I start a new game I spend 5 mins to configure work table for my pawns. And it is sooo boring...

What do you think 'bout it?

Something I've noticed tonight. The beds seem to have a pink outline around them? I didn't even noticed this while playing it all day until a few minutes ago, its rather faint but I thought I'd report it regardless.

Pink is in in 2015, or didn't you know?   ;D

Seriously though, I noticed it but it wasn't a high priority fix....once I get the mod to the point where I feel it's "complete" I'll revisit those textures.

Is this problem with all beds or just with med and pod? If the second, I could help to fix the textures to sve your time for more important work ;)

UPD: Just checked - it apears only in architect menu... with a cloth bed...
UPD2: Hmm... checked the texture and its clean as vanilla. And the defs are ok too. So, Im useless at this moment... Though, can someone test this issue with following texture?

New update today

* Floor beauty values adjusted

How exactly they were adjusted? Cause it was a little wierd to see, that "smoothed stone" is the most beautiful floor )
UPD: Don't mind (already checked the defs). If someone else is curious - *simple* floors have 3 beauty, and *top-tier* - 6

For now, you can just forbid kindling in the hopper - your cook will leave it, and you haulers would still replenish it.

Awesome. Thx for quick fix.

Thx for a quick update of my fav mod.
Fix the 'download' line (it leads to correct link, but says "download version IIX"

And a little offtopic:

One of my most favourite mods... Great job.. But, what does "IIX" means? Is it eight (which is VIII) or nine (which is IX)  ::)
Quote from: ITOS on February 24, 2015, 01:19:27 PM
"IIX" stands for 8. I always found double subtractives to look better.
Why it was "Glassworks III" than, instead of "Glassworks IIV"? ;)[/size]
