Messages - Enjoyment

Had some problems. No one wants to eat at those fancy mod-tables. Three squares between meal and tables (with mod-chairs), but pawns sit down on the ground for eating (much further than table). And nope, there're no thoughts 'having a picnic' at joy tab...

General Discussion / Are we going in the right way?
April 09, 2015, 03:55:40 PM
[WARNING: Bad English ahead! (you're we warned)]

So, guys...
It will be a little difficult to me to make sure, you all could get my point (especially The Ty). But, I'll try...

First of all - Im a fanatic fan of RW and love It as it is. And love the comunity, built by Tynan here, but...

I was not excited for alpha 9... No, I was glad when it was released, and still playing it a lot (even A LOOOOT) of time. And it is still cool as hell. Honestly, Rimworld is the best game-in-developement I ever saw, but...

Yeap, there's allways "but" for me. Its just a kind of my personality.

I read Devblog changlelog everyday and I look forward for "A10" and could imagine it will be "Get to the Fun!" or "Time for Relaxxx!" label. And Im sure it will still be a good old RW, and I definately will play it. But (I hope it will be the last one)...

Do you really share the way RW goes? Do you like some content/functions updates or would you prefer more "AI improvement" updates? Did you have a dream of "No more micromanagement!" update?..

P.S.: It's not a whine, Ireally just want to understand the community mood - to make sure, is it something wrong with me or with my fav game...

3 days of bugfixes in changelogs... hmmm...

Sorry, if this is off-topic, but as we can see - positions in poll is really wierd, cause of most people uses 16:9/10 ratio, and all of them not sure what res to vote for...
So, maybe Tynan should re-do the poll? Only IMHO, not even a suggestion though...
And one more thing... I'm a paranoic one, so I think, there is always a person who plays on granpa's cga monitor, but who will vote for a greatest res, just to say: "Im as cool as Chuk's steel balls. Cause it is internet and you can't check it". Again, just thoughts, maybe not worth to worry)

Using 1366x768 (laptop's max)... Voted for 1 option, and won't be able to play if Ty will increase min res to 1080... It's a pitty, but I understand why it is needed - low-res screens can be easily cramped with UI elements, that can be implemented in future (like EdB Interface-like icons for pawns).

I think you can go to *Your RimworldLocation*\Mods\Core\Textures\Things\Pawn and just delete this...

Outdated / Re: [MOD] (Alpha 9) Glassworks IIX

One of my most favourite mods... Great job.. But, what does "IIX" means? Is it eight (which is VIII) or nine (which is IX)  ::)

Support / Re: Please Help. I turned off the core game
February 21, 2015, 05:47:41 AM
Rock5, I don't think it's a bug. At the moment a 99% of the mods is a mods of a core game indeed. But we already have a couple of mods, that alters the whole game mechanics and requires a core mod to be disabled. It's a common practice along mod-friendly games. Maybe, we need a big disclaimer in mod menu like "DON'T turn off the core mod, unless you needed, the game WON'T start if you do"..

General Discussion / Turret multi-targeting
February 21, 2015, 04:03:44 AM
Inspired by this thread https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=10599.0
As I start new game I've noticed increased numbers of animals gone mad (see the thread above for the details). As for me, it wasn't a problem at all cause I had a very good-defencive starting posiotions and could resolve all the issues with three turrets. But than I saw some normal-sanity elks passing through my base every time they become starving and wanted to leave the map. Over and over again. And I've started to shoot them out with my turrets. This was pretty profitable - it frees my hunter for other jobs (and it is very helpful at the start). But it was a little bit annoying to select each turret separately each time for each target.
Do I the only one who has such problems, or there was already a discussion on this topic and maybe some solutions?
Links will be very appreciated...

General Discussion / Re: Is Tynan a cheater?

Thx, I still feels terrible, but now I can live with it).
It's so wrong that you a facing such things:

I've recently revised the forum rules and guidelines to cover this sort of situation, because I'm unfortunately seeing it pop up more and more. Not direct insults, per se, but just people saying things in unnecessarily inflammatory ways that they would never do in real life. This cannot become the norm for this forum. That's not the community I want to build or participate in.
Cause your friendliness to the community is one of the most valuable thing for me in Rimworld creation. And I will keep trying to write my posts more clearly in the future. I've chenged topic icon, I should do it at start, maybe it could help to avoid misunderstanding.

And the last thing - at the moment of your first reply - we have already found that I'm an idiot, so you could keep it in mind, reading my post)

O! And again, O!
I'm sorry if you took my words so close to the heart. This is a thing, that I hate in forum-like conversations - you don't hear my voice and can't guess my mood.
My topic completely WASN'T a charge, it was funny-style. I didn't blame you as a dirty cheater, but as a friendly trickster. And I've mentioned that I can be wrong at my vision.
I just shutting up. Forgive me, Tynan.

Take your time, EdB, I know your mod is much complex that most others, so there can be no "ASAP". I allways lost two or three colonies, before understanding all of the new alpha's mechanics, and for that moment your mod is usually done)
And thx for your work, man.

General Discussion / Is Tynan a cheater?
February 21, 2015, 02:50:22 AM
Hi, all...
First, congratulation to all of us for a new great release. Many good and important changes (except the wind turbines nerf, but it was fixed in recent hf, just as we all knew). But. Lets take a look into the changelog...

Dec 15
Bill interface now shows the name of the worker assigned to a bill.

...and than we look into the game. And we found nothing. Oh, really? So, we are back in A8 for this moment. Don't know, maybe it's not an important to other people, but it's critical for me...

In such conditions, I've been forced to keep a single crafter for the whole colony. Why? Cause it's the only way to prevent the following situation: On someday, my Jack-Rough-Hands with crafting 6 was drinking in a tavern, and after tenth bottle of beer, he thinks: "Man, f**k such a job, I am fed to the teeth with stonecutting. I was born for a tailoring!". And he goes to the tailoring table and throws out into the trash bin a lovely handmade devilstrand parka, made by my crafting 16 level Dianna-Golden-Hands, just to create some "I want to see it back" Tribalwear. Meanwhile, Dianna standing at the stonecutting table, make a masterpeices of slate blocks not mentioning that neither Brick nor Hammer (two brothers-builders) don't even look on them ("If it is a rock, and it is square, - that's enough for me" (c) Brick).

Though it can be a good "colony tale", it ruins my dreams of A9, and definitely not what I was expecting.

So, I asking myself (and you, of course): Is Tynan a cheater or I'm a blindman? Cause in second case it will be just funny (if I wrote this text only cuase I missed some small button), but in first case - we have to sound the alarm! It means that the world is at the edge and could blow every second (in case Tynan cheated on us).

That's my thoughts , and what are yours?

P.S. I don't complain about whole A9 (it's very fun indeed), but this moment means a lot.

In vanilla - my fav is R4Charge - it is powerfull and accurate, so my hunter kills needed animal, not my stupid 'Karl the One-eyed Peg-legged Hualer'
