Can you put a link up for the old alpha 7 files still ?

Probably will be a while before people really move to 8 due to waiting for mods.

All good, I'm still messing around with A7 anyhow myself until more mods get updated.

I touched on this before, but am wondering about xml configuration of the hordes themselves, so users could change the size/timing of them to suit their game/mods etc?

One thing I wanted in this, not sure if it's possible or too hard or what.

When you click on the actual name of the trait window you can get the whole list of traits come up - awesome.

Can we get that same function for the clothing ?

Yeah, that colony was forked, about 5 minutes in, possibly a new personnel best.

I had a similar experience and yes they do. I found 3 pods, due to earlier "issues" I only had a single colonist left. I opened the pod and 2 had unconscious blue-named people, and a 3rd had an enemy. Also 3-4 scarab beetle things popped out of the one I opened, they beat on him and then the red named guy shot him in the head and killed him ;)

Kind of surprised so many people choose based on combat skills. I try and get non-sucky traits, then I tend to go for stuff like growing, crafting and medicine.

I play with TTM usually, so high crafting is a necessity.

@thefinn Alpha 8 was only just released yesterday.  Still, I do plan to update because of the meal priority thing.  Not sure what you mean about nutrient paste though.  The latest version for A7 ranks nutrient paste alongside simple meals in terms of meal quality - this means that so long as the nutrient paste dispenser isn't reserved by too many colonists, they should choose nutrient paste over survival meals.  I had to drop the 'NutrientPasteIsOK' from the filename because it was getting unwieldy, but that's still a feature. :)

Awesome thanks I wasn't sure. Coulda sworn my guys were eating the rations instead of paste in A7, I might have a look again later (if so, could easily be an unrelated issue).

Well... unless you already got the research that gives you the comms console you're screwed...

You could - if you did get that research - grab a computer terminal from a trade caravan possibly and then throw down one of the large research tables instead.

See if we could get TTM updated to A8 it'd fix your problem too.

How does work the oil extraction? I cannot place the extractor on the oil field, it says that the place is already occupied :(

Do NOT floor around the oil spot - the oil refinery won't go on it after you do.

Place the refinery, then floor around it.

(Hard lesson learned on that one).

I really wish he would, but I made a thread the day A8 came out just going "I wouldn't mind if you made the next update all about fixing lots of little things"... you know the little things that annoy the crap out of you in the game - like the interface, or the lack of "select/unselect all" buttons in the crafting interface etc etc.
