I asked about modding traits a while back and mostly have it all figured out by now. I've been trying to figure out backgrounds next. There doesn't really seem to be anything about it anywhere. I guess it makes sense, since one of the promotional things is a custom character in all future games. If that is in fact the reason for the apparent lack of previous questions or tutorials for this then I'll totally get it and won't mention it again. That said, is there some way to do it that I just haven't found yet? It's always really bugged me that the warrior's background text is messed up, and it'd be useful to be able to make variants of existing backgrounds.

Mods / Trait modding
February 26, 2015, 04:39:39 PM
So I'm trying to make a custom trait for some of my characters. I've been looking around for some kind of tutorial and don't really see anything like that. The vanilla RimWorld folders don't seem to have any trait definition folders at all. I just tried using one from the Romance mod as a template with no dice. Am I just overlooking the one everyone uses, or...?

Mods / So... Pants...

Is there any kind of mod to make them appear on colonists somehow? I can't be the only one who finds their invisibility kind of jarring...

Help / Mods don't install/work anymore?
September 01, 2014, 04:11:46 AM
I was using the first version of Superior Crafting with Alpha 6 just a couple of weeks ago and it worked fine. I tried to replace it with 2.1 and it doesn't seem to register any mods anymore. I've also tried to use the new TTM. I didn't have any problems with the old version of that either. They just don't register as being activated now for some reason. Has anyone else experienced this? Is there a fix? The only thing I can think is that maybe it could have something to do with editing the world and colonist data. I don't see how that could have affected it though.

We can embark next to lakes and oceans now. Colonists already need to eat. Maybe they should need to drink as well? Water could also be used to fill moats or create baths to get the dirt off of your colonists' feet. It might make deserts impossible though unless there were some way to create rain catchers or dig wells.
