I try to watch other people playing to get a feel for how it actually runs, though. I do think watching the game in motion is really important for a game designer, and I think the best way to do that is to watch other people play. When you play yourself, you're not really approaching it like a normal player would because you know so much and assume so much more.

im not a game/mod maker but i see your point^^

i have games with hundrets of hours of "playtime" but i never "play" the game because of the big amound of mods. nah this sucks, next mod... naaahh next mod. ok this is fine, now i need a new mod.

and the only thing i do is pimping my game.
online time = 300 hours / playtime = 10 hours

heyho :)

how much time you guys think, did tynan spent to play/enjoy his game?
and i mean ENJOY, without thinking about anything. sure... he cant play it without any thoughts about bugs or content
and he dont have much time only for enjouying his own game because we want more^^
but i think he spents hours and hours in it only for fun, thats why rimworld is awesome.

you cant produce a good game if you never played it by yourself.
look at the "big" guys: ElectronicArts... i think they never play her own products.
(ok they cant play it because its a bugparty and... time is money)

day 9

1. raid
5 vs 3 molotov and explosives
3 down, 1 capture, 1 excape / all of my guys injured but not so bad.
my HOLE base on fire :D melee? NOPE^^ i think the raiders came directly from a wrestling event...


day 10

2. raid + dry thunderstorm
4 pods right in to my base (escape guy calls for backup i think^^) another wrestling group with molotov explosives and guns
half of my base is still on fire. couple seconds later "dry thunderstorm" fu** you randy :D
the captured guy goes on rampage -.-

the end of it:
everything on fire, 1 dead, 1 leaving the colony, 1 on a rampage

i love randy... you never know what happens next

social is a MUST HAVE for a psychologist.
medicin is more like... second/third place

i have no idea from medicin but almost everybody can "calm down" a good friend.

edit:
i mean :D if he cant talk, what will he do? the only thing that he needs to know is:
what can i do to calm this idiot down^^

offtopic:
after that question he decides to take your money and starts talking about bullshit ;)

most of the Psychologist in germany are idiots. they dont know nothing. the only thing that has to do with medicine is the doctorate

Heyho

I think it would be cool if your social or medicine peeps are able to take care of mental weak pawns.

after this message, your doc or social guy are able to put him in the med-bed. (select the "doc" and rightclick on the mental week person)
automatic
the game knows that some peeps are having mental trouble so the doc will come and take care of him.

i mean, if you have a warden, your prisoner gets soooo much + only from talking to him.
the only way to add some good mood to your peeps is to make a beautiful colony.

sometimes i have to arrest some of my guys so that the warden can take care of his mental break.

"unfinished colony for now"

black, red carpet = prison
white, red for the hospital
green, orange = dining, living room
ceramic (clutter mod) and wood for the storageroom. ceramic only under the stockpile
ceramic (clutter mod) = kitchen
wood = hydroponic center
stone = outside
black and grey metal (clutter mod) = crafting room

yellow carpet is :/
i want it more powerfull so... this yellow sucks^^

ah sleeping rooms :D
my main warden sleeps right nex to the prison so his room has black, red carpet.
my doc sleeps next to the hospital

purple carpet = female pawns

i crashed my car into the bridge, i watched i let it burn

the damn radiostation was playing this song over and over and over -.-
and my boss was realy angry after i smashed the radio on the work in rampage :D

sure it is possible but i dont think this will happen.. and... i dont think there is a need for this

i mean... we are in alpha 6.
i dont know how far this will go but with every version you have to put in a new subforum.
for examble:
in one year there will be 12 subforums (plural? dont know english is not my mother language)
and billions of threads.

for every version the mod-maker (dont know the word^^) has to make a new thread.

what some mods need is a better subject
it has to be cristal clear... like: "Alpha6 + A5,A4 blablablaablablablaaa" something like that^^

manual mortars are in the game so i think there will be more like this.

research tree:
sandbags --> mg nest --> automatic mg --> scifi plasmalauncher --> orbital strike (last 2 offtopic^^)
