I'm in the United States and would like to buy Rimworld directly from Ludeon using my USA-bank-based Visa card. Since as I understand Ludeon is based in Montreal, if I need to contact my bank first to pre-authorize an international transaction would I need to do so?

And is there any difference in this between the "Buy with Credit Card" and "Buy with PayPal" options?

(If this makes no sense, all card purchases have a location associated with them, the example I gave in the other forum was if I were to buy an airline ticket from Montego Air in New York, NY, it would say on my card statement "MONTEGO AIR NEW YORK NY $...".)

Edit: I bought the game yesterday and answered my own question, it does say "Canada" on the transaction. I calculated that the fee my bank will charge is less than what I would have needed to go through to try to get someone else to buy the game on my behalf.

A mysterious new individual contacts you over your comms console and asks two questions:

1. What Linux distributions will run Rimworld? I've read most of the requirements are Unity-engine-based and that requires a particular window manager (GNOME, IIRC) and I do like to keep to some kind of major distribution. Currently using Puppy Linux so yes I claim to know how to use Linux.

2. When buying Rimworld directly from rimworldgame.com, where will one's credit card statement say the transaction took place? (For example, if someone bought an airline ticket from Montego Air in New York City, it would say on the next credit card statement "MONTEGO AIR NEW YORK NY $...") Need to ask because I may need to call the bank to 'pre-authorize' a transaction if the location listed when buying Rimworld is outside the USA.

Thank you in advance for any help anyone might be able to provide.
