I've been playing for quite a long time and i think outdoor colonies are the best, depending on how you set up your defences.

Indoor colony = cabin fever
outdoor colony = enemy drop pods

I'm not the best graphic designer, only been doing it for 2 months but this what i've made is an energy Power generator, took 10 mins and its completely made up and is powered by plasma (Blue).

Let us know what you think, Might not match your art style though Haha :-)

I'd quite like the option to build outposts (Basically other colonies separate from my main HQ). These would practically allow you to build up an empire/civilisation on the planet.
i like the idea of crashed colonists landing on a deserted planet only to colonize and grow into something big.

I just have 1 Guy hunt quite far away from my colony.
Its ironically funny though when you watch a sniper bullet fly across the map and hit one of your colonists, its that moment of panic what kicks in as you try to draft the hunter as fast as you can before he takes everyone out.

My work laptop can run rimworld at 60fps, FPS only drops during a storm.

Intel I3 3217U - 1.80GHz
6GB RAM
Intel HD 4000

If the specs are equal or greater than this then i would definitely go for it! :D
My home PC is where all the real power is Haha ;)

One thing i always seem to see on the forum is mountain colonies, does anybody build their colony outdoors?

If so then post a picture of your colony and show it off to the rest of us.

Personally i'm a big fan of building outdoors to start with and then tunnelling into mountains in the far late game. Although i'm posting this from work so cant get a pic of my colony Haha ;)

I like to have one guy who just does all the hunting for my colony, he gets all the best stuff and usually is the guy with the best shooting (Killing animals = training).

Also my power grids normally consist of multiple battery rooms but with a space in between each battery in case of a fire - learnt that lesson the hard way when a metal wall exploded in A5 and caused my whole battery room to burn down.

With the constant stream of updates this game receives you can never really get bored. If you do though you could always mod it (although i never mod myself).

Maybe an eclipse would cause the fungus to grow as all the map is then dark.
But yeah i like his idea, it reminds me of "Space Colony" back in the days when you had to get your flamethrower out and go weed hunting.

I'd quite like the ability to visit other parts of the world just to mine resources and transport them back to base, or maybe setup a farming outpost in grassland to feed your desert colony.

Ideas / % (Percentage) Chance when capturing Visitors

When capturing visitors i think that rather than it just make you enemies with the other faction it should have a percentage chance of the other faction finding out you have captured one of their colonists.

As an example a colonist (Yours) with a certain high skill would have less chance of alerting the other faction when one of their people are captured.
In a rimworld style world people would go missing most of the time whilst traveling the world so it would make sense to have something like this, rather than the faction declaring war on you as soon as you capture one of their people.

i normally watch the videos just to get an idea of the structure of the code. Some things done in visual studio are a tad different to unity etc.

Maybe we could have turrets that colonists sit in like the mortar but much more heavy than the standard turret maybe something like this - Would have to be researched and cost 800 metal (Would be slow firing with high damage) :
