True, one person i would recommend to you who taught me how to code for games in c# was someone called awful media on youtube - https://www.youtube.com/user/AwfulMedia/videos
He does programming,  web design and other stuff so i downloaded his whole youtube channel.

Buy books off amazon and use google to gather information on programming, experiment a little in visual studio (depending on what language you are going to use).

I made a simple game with basic last year for college, since last month i've been trying to teach myself c# in visual studio and unity. its all going well up to now, just the odd bit i still need to get my head around plus i recently bought a book off Amazon that goes over the basic programming methods to keep to in unity.
Be interesting to see if i can remember it after leaving it a week

Yeah thats exactly what i was thinking, it would mean that when your colonists leave your Base you would have to have outposts/defences outside as well in case your man can't get back to base.

Question is what would they look like? i think they should have quite a scary look to them - maybe some sort of built in blade weapon

I know people like sitting behind their killbox but one thing that i think would add some sort of difficulty to the end game would be having some sort of fast/speedy Mech that only attacks with melee.

This type of enemy would have the player on edge as they might not be able to get colonists into defensive positions in time so it adds a bit more strategy/fear to the game.

This type of mech would be fast and only use melee - to make up for its speed. Personally i think this would complete the Mechs as you have already got the scyther (Sniper), Centipede (Tank) then Insert_Name : .......... (Close Range).

With the new melee system coming out it could be a good addition.

Let me know what you guys think?

I like to name it "Militia Outpost" Or anything around that, Gives me a bit of story to work with as i like to imagine my colonists are from a Military organisation taking territory from the tribals + pirates.

Believe it or not i actually had a dream alpha 7 came out last night (been spending too much time browsing the forums) but to have a dream like this and wake up to check the dev progress and still see its alpha 6 - it killed me Haha :-)

I watched a TV programme called revolution last year and based my name on one of the characters who reminds me of myself. Plus this name is a fake alias i use on the web haha ;-)
i used to have Mightyfox though till i left college.

A large swarm of pirates attacked my colony, we thought long and hard and lost most of our colony members. By the time the battle had finished 6 colony members out of 11 remained and an injured pirate. Seeing as i had lost all my good people i imprisoned the pirate to show him he's now in hell, but when i checked on his health stats seeing what parts were injured i actually felt sorry for the guy Haha, So in the end i recruited him and he is now a vital member of the colony except his fighting days are past him as his right Eye was "Shot Out" during the pirate assault. Which is a shame because his shooting stats where 8.

The day a Boomrat snuck its way into my battery room, and exploded after 2 day of being stuck there.
Put my colony in total darkness for 3 days.
