Mods / [Help Request] Need some basic spritework

I need some basic projectile sprites for my mod but I'm not very good at this kind of thing so I figured I'd see if one of our resident artists is feeling charitable. I need two things: a shotgun pellet projectile in the style of vanilla bullet graphics (basically the vanilla bullet with trail but round instead of cylindrical) and a number of graphics for fragments (the kind that is created by HE shells and shreds people) of different sizes and shapes.

If anyone could draw these for me, that would be great.

Maybe, but considering A9 is coming soonish and includes its own ammo system I don't think its worth the effort to be honest.

Certain backgrounds always have certain names attached to them. IIRC pop-idols (very high art scores) will always be called Min, fighter controllers are always names Bashkire etc.

Melee weapons will definitely get a rebalance some time in the future, lots of oddities right now (concrete club severing legs in one blow, wait what?). I didn't rebalance animal body parts though, so many parts and I don't really have any reference for them.

Also, speaking of mortars, I've been testing a new explosion effect. The next version will include smaller, stronger explosions with lots of shrapnel flying in a large radius, so mortar shells will be more deadly against soft targets in the open while walls and cover will provide more protection (no more raider mortars wiping out entire trade stockpiles in one hit). The same effect will be applied to all explosives with fragmentation effect, i.e. HEAT shells, frag grenades, etc.

The food bar is a vanilla feature. I recall someone posted a screenshot a while back where a bunch of Centipedes had starved to death trying to get through his killbox.

You're not missing something, it seems I made a facepalm-worthy mistake and forgot to include it in the archive when I uploaded the hotfix. I put it up as a separate download now, sorry about that.

No, the modified PA version has connection to the Defence Pack.

Thanks for the hint, I'll probably have a look at it this weekend and see if I can make some kind of rocket-propelled grenade effect.

When a prisoner goes berserk you don't need to shoot them. Just draft 2-3 colonists and tell them to melee attack him (make sure they don't have any proper melee weapons though) and they will knock him out.

Here's a video showing mortar strikes in Syria. Note how the first shell directly strikes the building and just how little damage it does to the actual structure. In Rimworld terms that would be maybe one or two sections of wall. People always think artillery causes huge explosions because of Hollywood nonsense and big scary dustclouds, but real artillery explosions aren't that dangerous. The shrapnel they send flying is.

Yeah, I'll probably just accept it and move on to something easier. Like figuring out how to make a projectile spawn another projectile. ::)

Yes. The main module is a standalone overhaul of all the vanilla weapons and will function without the rest.

Both archives are above the maximum filesize for attachments. The best I could offer you would be to upload it to another mirror like Dropbox.

I prefer dropbox over everything nowadays. Any day. :D

They're all the same to me, but I have uploaded it to Dropbox now. Let me know if there are any more download issues.
