it seems the link to "Can I Brew It?" is taking me to "Brunayla's Security Co."

Are the descriptions direct copies? I noticed the boomalope is compared to a boomalope, instead of what I suppose should be boomrat.

At this point any bugs should be posted in the Bug forum, as the game was released. Once a new alpha needs testing, this forum will be used again.

at this point, you are not able to name pets, your colonists do, but even that is random. This is not a bug really, more of a purposeful decision.

Ideas / Re: More Priority Numbers
July 28, 2015, 10:37:05 AM
It really shouldn't be necessary if you are handling it how it was made to be handled. First, two jobs can have the same number if the order in which you want them is listed from left to right. so each job doesn't need it's own number. Secondly, when you get to the point where you have enough colonists to start specializing to that degree, you shouldn't have the colonists with so many jobs, as it slows down the game. Considering these two points, four should be plenty.

Now I realize that this may not be the reality for some players and I am not discrediting your style of gameplay. I am more explaining why it is the way it is. I also don't necessarily think it is a bad thing to add in more numbers.

The question I have though is, how many number is really enough?

Actually, both cards are invalid because Resurrect is not an MtG action or trigger. :)

"Return target thread from the graveyard to the battlefield" is the correct wording.

Whta's a ' MtG action or trigger'? Help me and my fellow noobs understand your big words! ;D

MtG stands for Magic the Gathering, the card game this card is mimicking. Essentially, the word resurrect wouldn't be used because it doesn't mean anything as a direct quote. The wording would have to be different in order to make sense to the game.

"Hello there my little boar, I brought you something to eat and something to think about. This is what happens to those who do not join us. Say hello to your brother. *Hands boarmeat* How do you like my new hat?"

I know this is something we already do to prisoners, but for some reason it only stuck out to me now. Guess I haven't entirely embraced my inner-Rimworld.

Amen SSS.

Alpha  is defined as a game that is still in development, and that more content will be added. By calling it rimworld alpha XX, you are stating that the program is incomplete. Consumers make purchasing decisions upon the information given. You are giving the consumer the information right away, that the game is not DONE, not complete.

Yet you have announced that for you it is DONE. That is a violation of the moral obligation with the consumers since Rimworld is still an Alpha release. That is where the backlash towards you is coming from, you have violated the obligation that you sold to the consumer from the very title of the game.

Want to call the game done, that is your right as the creator, but it is also your moral obligation to label your product correctly.

My personal issue with this is to what extent can a player expect an alpha game to grow? If I bought it at alpha 1, I can understand a bit of expectation. But what if someone buys it at alpha 12 and Tynan releases it as complete at the next stage, only adding a few things? Were they deceived? Not really IMO, because being in alpha doesn't mean something in particular is being added, only that it is still a work in progress. At any moment, an alpha can stop being an alpha. When some people buy an alpha, they look at how it is and gamble that it will become what they expect. Most people buy the game because it looks enjoyable how it is and want to play it. The issue Tynan is having is that those few people are feeling like they lost that gamble and are blaming Tynan. You don't lose money in the stock market because a company didn't do well, you lose money because you put money in the stock market.

As for deceiving the buyers by leaving it in Alpha, thats bollocks. It would be if Tynan wasn't still adding stuff to it, but the changelog obviously shows that isn't the case. Even then, there has to be one alpha that becomes the next stage. Alpha is also, after all, for testing a product with a smaller group before releasing it to a larger audience. All he is saying is if this was the last alpha, he would feel like he gave people a well rounded product, which he did.

Did Tynan run out of room on the document or is he splitting it up for a reason?

he mentioned it in the comments. "Just to follow up, based on a bunch of feedback I think I probably will just release it 1.0. It's ready for that. Nothing of substance about what I wrote originally would have changed - it's purely a labeling issue."

I am actually most excited about the mod growth that will come from a steam release and a 6 month gap in updates that could possibly mess them up. More modders with more time to tinker!

And Tynan has changed his mind about the EA release.

Off-Topic / Civ 5: Complete Edition for $12.50?
June 16, 2015, 11:38:44 AM
So I made the mistake of going onto Steam's sale and saw that this game is on sale for 75% off. I haven't played any Civilization game in over a decade and I fairly enjoyed it then. I wanted to hear other people's opinions on this particular version (and its expansions) before I buy it. What are your thoughts?
