Has anyone checked what happens if you call your allies for help and they 'accidentally' happen to be enemies of the caravan sitting in your front yard?  :P

Tribals and/or villagers were never hostile to each other in any game I played, so it won't happen unless you mod/debug it.

But I read on the forum about games in older versions where this seemed to happen, so I think it was possible before A12.

It is entirely possible for different factions to be hostile to each other and still be friendly to you. Used to result in a lot of "A trader was harmed, he blames you" messages in modded games on A12 because two visitors ventilated each other. Even two hostile raiding groups that are here to attack your colony can end up attacking each other should they cross and not like each other.

I almost imagine if they're not fully implemented yet that they'd just get plopped out on the floor wherever, unable to move and would just be an extra mouth to feed until such a time that they're fully grown in which case they're considered food, like with animals. Maybe I've just played too much Rimworld.

No, only a filled tile (such as with a wall) blocks an explosion.

Naw, that's just Tynan secretly introducing emotional volatility so colonists' moods are even more of a rollercoaster than they already are. Sadly, he's only got it working for relationships.

This kinda thing happens quite often I take it?

Generally no, I've been watching the forums since A9 and I've never seen this sort of thing billow to the surface. But Nine has been going about this for the past, what, couple months in a rather immature fashion. First skyark comes in with poor english fresh from the likes of european WoT, or DotA or LoL, accusing Nine of texture theft. Nine's response was to trot off and make their own twobit free site to host the modpack. That required the intervention of Tynan before it was resolved and it resulted in a new rule being installed in the mod forums to try and keep it from happening again. Then there was the debacle with Combat Realism. And apparently now there was Itchy making the request that donation buttons be added for their mods or otherwise remove the mods. Ninefinger removed the mods and then the whole thread, the github host and his site. I mean, really? It's all quite pathetic and childish, but I'm sure someone else will come along and fill the void by taking Superior Crafting and iterating on it again. If not, there is still skyark's pack. Abrexxus also supposedly has a Superior Crafting 2.0 in the works so people can leech off that when it comes around.

Hey Goo hate to be that asshole but drop the critique on someone else's ability to speak perfect English. While the majority of our community is English speaking it's nobody's place to judge someone else just because they have problems using it. I for one know that Sky is Russian, meaning it's a secondary/third language and as such his words might be a dash jumbled. Same time, that doesn't mean you have any right stabbing at him :P

I know Sky is foreign, I kinda figured that by reading the hardcore sk thread a bit. But their ranting in the UOM thread and then the texture artist they hired or whatever coming in and using equally poor english just reminds me far too much of a couple years spent playing WoT with "noob unfar plane uninstal and play tetris noob gold spamr". It made their flaming that much worse when it didn't flow like good english. It doesn't come across as raising a complaint, it comes across as hastily written sperg, like much of the flaming of online gaming tends to be. Ain't nobody got time to write properly when they're dead, spectating and backseat gaming. Mneh. I've tired of the ongoing shitstorm that has been Ninefinger's UOM as of late. It's showing through. Will try to cull the offhand remarks.

This is why you just don't involve monetary gain of any sort in modding. It makes things so messy so very quickly.

Ideas / Re: New power ideas

Now, this is all a good idea, but we really need to break it down into three categories:

Supply - How much of a certain resource it will take.
Conversion - How much of a certain resource is required to generate a certain amount of power
Appeal - How many players will build the structure due to different supply/conversion rates.

Now, let's start with the smokestack -

Trees are a limited resource in the game. They take a lot longer than regular plants to grow, and many maps have a limited supply. This makes it near impossible to become a full-time producer as it will need regular wood supplies which we simply can't handle. If this were to go ahead, it would need to generate an almighty amount of power per x wood, which would overpower it. Due to the constant wood supply, and the fact that it would have to be refilled regularly, you would need to be able to use a hopper rather than manually feed it wood. Too much work in my opinion.

I use a bunch of generators in a modpack that run off of wood supplied by hoppers just to have something that eats through the several thousand wood I seem to accumulate just from clearing grown trees within about 70-80 tiles of my colony. I don't even care for the power, I just want some use for the wood other than selling it for a pittance of silver. It doesn't feel limited to me. Maybe if you're way up north in the frozen wastes where flora is non existant, then sure. wood is a limited resource. But then that introduces a mildly interesting choice in your game. Do you use the wood for construction or crafting effors, or do you use it for supplying much needed power.

@OP's nuclear power plant idea

Several mods introduce nuclear power plants, take a look at those. The Crash Landing mod crashes a leaking ship reactor core on the map which you CAN use for power, but it irradiates a fairly large area of the map, causing health issues, as well as turning the nearby area into a radioactive waste, unusable for plantlife.

Sleeping Sickness has very low lethality. Just treat your colonist every time a treatment is needed, and he doesn't need to stay in bed. Only keep him in bed if he's old, because immunity progresses slower for old people.

I had someone bed bound for a couple weeks thanks to Sleeping Sickness. Immunity progressed so incredibly slowly, but so did the disease. Just a free waste of like 10-15 doses of meds that still take a couple days in between each dose.

There is a god mode, but my friend wants a god mode that's toggleable on specific colonists instead of the entire colony at once.

I'm now beginning to run into the issue of people spawning with said armour despite efforts to stop it. I removed <commonality>, removed <tags>, added <canBeSpawningInventory>false</canBeSpawningInventory> from the improvised turret gun and added <tradeability>never</tradeability> from the mechanoid weapons. But I still get this. I've resorted currently to adding <menuHidden>true</menuHidden> to everything.

I believe Abrexus did make a post on the matter but it is quite a few pages back now.

Mods / Re: [Art Request]RA1 Flame Tower

The top, I planned to just have an invisible gun sprite because the original flame tower doesn't orient itself at all to attack. It just is.

.

EDIT: Given Rimworld has that thing going on where the camera looks like it's tilted a little off center rather than a proper over the top view, the base of the flame tower could do with being squished a little vertically to reflect a similar look.

As another experimental foray into tinkering with Rimworld, would someone be able to make a flame tower sprite in the style of Rimworld? You can readily find 3d renditions of what people think the flame tower should look like and I'll make an edit soon with a picture from in-game of what it looked like originally.

It seems like no one chooses to read previous pages...

Nope, no-one does and Abrexus hasn't made a post in the page or page before of the average person's "Where's A12 update?" so people just take it to be ded.
