Time to send the Inaccuate mortars! I had about 10 of them since i had like 15 people in mine, they were semi decent in destroying the part and some of the mechs before they attacked. The EMP one really help when it was right in from of my base.

The emps mortars help DURING the assault. Colonists are immune to EMP. So you can bomb over them with no fear. Disabling the mechanoid in the meanwhile. It's an easy win really.
Also, EMP granades. OP vs mechanoids.

If the explosive charges that were in the game back in Alpha 1 were still here I would place a load of them around the ship and watch it go boom.
