IMO all the farm thing is a bit weird.
You don't need to destroy berry bushes, when you pick them. Strawberry plants doesn't need to be destroyed, as corn. I agree about potatoes, rice or haygrass.
But we can't have a tomato plant, because it would be destroyed on picking the tomatoes.

You don't get it. It's DIRECTIONAL.
It explodes toward a direction.
It's used IRL for ambushes and to counter ambushes, because it's controllable, you can have the troops relatively close to it and it doesn't affect them.

IED detonates, or burns. That's whildly different from the damage of a claymore mine.
A claymore pelts, in a range of about 100m and inan arc of 60 degrees, a zone with a shotgun blast. The explosion is irrelevant unless you are standing right next to it when it goes off.
Think of it as a one-shot huge shotgun blast.

Claymore mines.
It's some C4, some shotgun pellets and a detonator linked to a wire.
Pretty bad in close range.

Crossbows were traditionally used against heavy plate armor
The crossbow (expecially true with bodkin bolts https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bodkin_point) Will pierce plate armor https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crossbow

Wait.
I didn't think it needed specification.
Bionic limbs exist TODAY. I guess a quick search will find you more than something.
The full cyborg body I had in mind was completely biomimetic.
Touch, taste, smell, all except procreation, is still there.
You are also faster, stronger and more resillient.

Nothing else.

A prostohobe would simply go crazy.
We are talking about full body conversion here.
Hell, even a not prostophile would have maluses, for adapting to his new body.
A newly converted cyborg would be a little unstable. Until he adapts.

I see a nice and warm spot for the research skill.
It should be sciency.

A place to share stories of complete and utter badassery.

For example, one time in the early game I got a manhunting Rhino event. I performed the usual preparations for my colonists to snipe-and-scatter the Rhino to death. All went well until I realized that my rifle colonist was moving ultra-slow. Turns out that I had her smoke a joint earlier to keep her mood up, so she was moving 30% slower than normal. Oops.

That Rhino was going to cut her to ribbons! Fists versus Rhino Horns? Not happening. So in desperation I sent in my only melee colonist, Justin.

Justin fought a Rhino. 1v1. With a Knife. And Won. Wearing nothing but a synthread shirt and pants no less!

Happened more or less the same thing.
Only it was Allen "gramps", 78 years old, born vatgrown soldier, became bartender, brawler.
Plasteel knife VS rhino. Gramps won. Colony ate a lot of rhino based meals.

I got a 25 YO colonist develop asthma.
The chance of it happening was abysmal.
Luckily it was treatable, with a couple of "friendly" lung donors.

I had a random "boomalope herd joins" event during a siege.
All I had to do was making the pirates start attacking the colony, and having the boomalopes in a confined area, then throw them to the pirates from behind a mountain.
Fun times people.

I was involved in a motorbike to car crash (I was on the bike), I have a TON of scars on my lower body. None of them hurts, ever.

Ok. Right now we have our bionic implants, that replace missing limbs.
We technically are still missing bionic organs, but that's not the point of this suggestion.
What am I suggesting is a FULL BIONIC body, that should well be into the range of 5500's technology.
Brain enchased in a armored "brain box", a nutrient extractor for feeding such brain and a good armor overall.
It should be VERY costly and require some serious doctor (skill 16 as a minimum) to make the conversion from biological to bionic.
What do you think?
