If it does it be much less lackluster as a weapon set.

Muffalo if you're playing on icesheet at VERY cold temperatures. Their wool offers (on a normal parka) -120C resistance, which should cover pretty much all cold-problems.

My icesheet can get down to -122 o.o

Releases / Re: [A13] Cheaper Components 1.0
April 17, 2016, 03:36:23 PM
Its honestly really simple, keep the metal cost the same but increase the OUTPUTS, or the number of components you get from each crafting operation, to 4. That is about 7 metal a component, it still costs the same immediate dedication of resources, but allows for better availability of components for truly large scale bases.

Funerals.

Nothing stands out in Rimworld more than the death of one of your favorite colonists. Friends, lovers, leaders, when they die, it hurts. What better use for scripted social events than a funeral?

I renamed one of my colonists "Corpse bearer" because he was constantly having to haul corpses (no spare dirt to bury them on the ice sheet). People died just entering the map on a good day, and winters were brutal for anyone without shelter, a heat source and a parka. It averages -100F on my ice sheet colony. I am mostly just playing it to see how ludicrous the body pile-up can get so I've cheated mood bonuses (no items), and occasionally zapped some raids that get sent that are way out of my league.

Anyway point of the matter is that if this was added you'd have a lot dying from colonists freezing their asses off mourning a dead friend or family member on the extreme end of the cold biomes at least.

Cyberbear. Army.

That is all.

All that needs to be said to be honest; bonus if we could enhance their intelligence so they can haul/rescue.

General Discussion / Re: "The Turtles of Pain"

this is where the small turtles stay (some are adults already, time to send them out), I dump all corpses there

I dont train any turtles, some of them always graze near my killbox when I get raided and draw a lot of fire tho

So what you are saying is? Build a land mine field out of turtles to defend our base ?

Defense?Meat?Offense?Money?Materials?

I am genuinely curious which are the most efficient for me to be putting my money on.

Also, it would be hard to make stunning work without making it a super weapon - a virtual 1-hit kill.  you're either stunned or youre not

Downs them in one hit, causes numerous mood debufs (pain, they shot with a taser, I just want to be free). Risk of brain damage, risk of heart attack; after all, its a cobbled together electrified prong thrower, there is a good chance it gives them too many amps.

Mods / Re: [Mod Request] Play as Mechanoids.

my $0.10

- Butchering 'things' gives flesh, bone and skins
- Power made initially by 'harvesting' organics (ie. burning corpses, wood) making farms for Mechanoids useful
- Building material by grinding up organics and mixing with rock chunks and making a 'bonecrete' or a 'bloodcrete' (depending on what materials used with bloodcrete being cheaper, faster to build and bonecrete being more fortification type)
- Skin can be used to make coverings for Mechanoids, (who dosnt want human skin covered Mechanoids?)

Certainly would be interesting. Gradually becoming a more advanced hive that depends less and less on common organic material to maintain itself.

Why was this moved into the suggestion subforum? It's a discussion about using turrets as prison security, not a request to add that.

Yeah, that is a bit odd, why is it here? It Already works like this.

Although since it is here; lets start a discussion relevant to title: why not at stun turrets for prisons to contain prison breaks? Crowd Suppression weapons would also be nice.

Of course first time it sucks, but when you ate your third lover along with dudes who killed her you get used to it no?

Also having such ridonculously long durations on these doesnt works because a little sharoebstvo or killing spree resets them anyway.

Personally I'd support the idea of perhaps becoming "jaded" to certain things; gradually becoming mostly unmoved by the sight of corpses, death, cannibalism, injury etc. You'd think after they've seen a few hundred dead bodies they'd stop complaining and just get to work stripping them for loot.

Ideas / Implement a "Planet-Type" system
April 15, 2016, 02:09:17 AM
Simply put:  The Rimworlds we've played on can be "Low-Class Earth-likes" but he could introduce the concept of alternate rimworlds, some where terraforming has gone completely wrong or where the civilizations of the past have left deep scars.

Really I think that the game could benefit from some more "outlandish" places.  Right now all the biomes we have are mundane, but the Rimworld universe is really wild and weird underneath the relatively realistic constraints. Potentially Tynan could introduce "planet type" to the game. Alternate world types would have their own set of biomes, share some creatures with other worlds, have some unique incidents, different takes on factions etc.

Think worlds where the Xenohumans dwell; where biological and mechanical horrors lurk, and where even the plants are trying to kill you.

I'd love it if we could get

CODENAME : The Corpse Bearer
Defining attribute : The Corpse Bearer greatly enjoys spreading death, and chaining events that result in large amounts of corpses being strewn across the map.
Description :  The Corpse Bearer's pure focus is mood debuffs, resource denial and strife. Initially the events it rolls out will be simple, random animals will have heart attacks, berserk animals that hunt other animals as well as your colonists will appear occasionally, and early raids will always be occupied by a minor incident. However; the Corpse Bearer is true to its namesake and will attempt to kill your colonists by starving them by causing frequent cold snaps, and map wide events that threaten any plant life on the map. Its ultimate goal is to force your colony to be cannibals, devouring the fallen of visitors and raiders alike to sustain your colony. It will also drive your colonists mad indirectly by causing incidents that kill off visitors, animals and even raiders, turning the land around your colony into a barren wasteland bathed in blood, as well as wreathed in bone and rotting flesh. Colonies will quickly become hellscapes upon which your colonists will reign supreme or die if they fail.

Like I said any input is appreciated you're fine bud.

Balance it by making the "traders" obviously more well armed than they should be. If we are warned before hand if its implemented that some traders can be raiders, its our own fault when we don't notice a "trade caravan" has all the hallmarks of a raider group. Also make it trigger early if we go near the trade caravan with colonists.

Mods / Re: [Mod Request] Selling Corpses

Is it possible to make a mod to sell corpses in storage rather than having to butcher them up? Although I suppose that can be abused quite a bit, since you could just plop a stockpile under any corpse laying around. Maybe only corpses stored indoors?

I would think that the peddlers of human flesh would usually prefer it live, although some people do have their preferences....oh never mind I see what you are saying. Honestly you can toss the corpses in a freezer and let your carnivores munch on them as food supplement. The corpse is gone, they dispose of it for you, there is also a research-able workstation expressly for burning corpses (crematorium) although I'd say you are better of just feeding it to your critters.
