I'm afraid it's a bug in the French translation data.

And it stays after reloading the savegame (by design).

I'm moving this to the translator forum and will link the french translators to it.

We can discuss the reasoning, but this is intentionally not possible right now for a variety of reasons (technical and balance first among them), so it's not a bug if it doesn't work. Thanks for taking the time to report regardless.

I think you're right there are definitely problems here. This kind of in-depth feedback is very useful and I'll be paying careful attention to it while reworking everything going forward. It's a very complex game so it takes a lot of time and a lot of feedback to really dial it in.

Psycasters are supposed to be transformative, powerful, but costly - but fights are also still supposed to be challenging and risky.

Excellent report and the cause makes a lot of sense. It's just float precision problems - the small amount of energy that discharges per day gets divided by 60,000 into a tiny float, then subtracted from a large float. It must be inducing a bias in the calculations. Easy enough to fix by only discharging say, once per 200 ticks. Though not a super high priority bug, but nice catch!

It is intentional for now, but we may implement it at some point. However we have a plan to deal with over-large monuments so hopefully this won't be needed.

Yes, backstories update in-place. There have been a few back compatibility issues related to this. I'm sorry about those. It's not quite a bug but something we need to be conscious of in future. But, if a backstory is updated to remove an ability it's no different from a gun updating to remove an ability.

You can see in the logfile the DMD in the stack trace; that means DynamicMethodDefinition; it's something mods create to edit the game code. So it's a mod bug; I'll move it to that forum. Thanks for reporting either way!
