This would be nothing short of amazing. Prison Architect did a good job of the port to mobile/touch screen, necessary UI changes were made to accommodate, but the game is superb on tablet.

But yeah, CPU/lag could be an issue

Hi all

I'll be doing a Livestream of RW on Sunday Feb 18th at 8pm GMT. I'd be very happy to have you along, will be for a couple of hours and I'll start from fresh. I'll take whatever the game gives me for colonists (no rerolls), and will take a random site. Always happy to take suggestions via chat during the strea,, so it can be as interactive as you like.

See you there!

An important thing you should prioritize putting in your first room as soon as possible is the research bench. You want to research automated turrets, so you must research microelectronics first.

A18 made turrets really slow to get- you now have to research 5 (Smithing, Machining, Gunsmithing, Blowback Operation and MicroElectronics) pre-req researches before you can get to turrets!!

General Discussion / Re: My "game of 2017" : Rimworld
December 06, 2017, 06:35:23 AM
Nice write-up. Rimworld is easily the best game I've played, and I keep coming back to it with no boredom setting in. So many biomes and challenges, and that's without even trying the many mods (i just prefer vanilla).

The amount of times my colony has been wiped by weird stuff (rampaging squirrels), or just bad luck (fleeing raiders dug into an Ancient Danger structure, releasing 2 Scythers and a Inferno Cannon caterpillar that promptly kicked the stuffing out of my pre-turret 4 man colony), is too numerous and yet it's still fun.

If this is easily reproduced, post it in the Bugs forum, to make sure one of the Dev team definitely sees it. They may miss it in here.

Since Chemfuel generators are now at vanilia, this should be your main powersource.
Special bonus they generate heat too, very usefuel at your cold biome, lower the power need to heat the base.

But you need to research refinery first to create chemfuel out of veggies you can grow with hydroponics.

Would milking a Boomalope be able to keep up with demand a chemfuel generator has for fuel? Obviously, you'd have to start with one as a 'pet' (if this is even possible)

Very helpful thread- never tried SeaIce before, I'll give it a go!

Bugs / Re: B18 - Bog biomes hard to generate?

ETA: okay, I just generated a world with the standard temp and wetness settings with the seed "eighteen" and 50% globe coverage. There are two cold bog areas of reasonable size, one in the northern hemisphere and one in the south. Give it a try, hope it works for you.

Thanks, I'll use that. It wasn't that I couldn't find one at all, rather that they are hard to find  and I wanted to report back :)

I did- it seems to come in a big clump or not at all. It's weird. Maybe it's working as designed or maybe my random seeds are exactly that but to have zero of one biome that isn't particularly extreme just seemed odd

Bugs / B18 - Bog biomes hard to generate?
November 21, 2017, 05:48:30 AM
Hi

Not sure if this is a bug or just bad luck, but I am having real issues trying to generate a world with any Bog biome hexes on. Plenty of Swamp, but Bog is *really* hard to come by!

Anyone else having these issues, as I'd specifically like to start in a bog, but generating world after world and not seeing any

You may get more traction/comments if you have just one thread for each series you do, and update it when a new episode is released? Just a thought, this Videos section seems kinda 'spammed' with your videos. Not being an ass, just an observation  :)

-savedatafolder C:/Path/To/The/Folder

So it'll look something like this:

C:/RimWorld/RimWorld.exe -savedatafolder C:/Path/To/The/Folder

Sorry to be nitpicky, but wanted to point out this has changed. I tried it myself the other day based on these instructions- when I couldn't get it to work properly, I re-read the readme.txt and found it had subtly changed to:

C:/RimWorld/RimWorld.exe -savedatafolder=C:/Path/To/The/Folder

It needs the equals sign now.

Hope that helps someone who may get stuck on the same thing.

Thanks Snafu and the others, really helpful replies here.

I managed to get my growers to 8 using the tips earlier in this thread, and grew a large amount of healroot in rich soil under a sun lamp indoors. Now my medicine issue has gone, I am struggling for components- fortunately, I have found a seam of plasteel that I am selling for a tidy amount, so I can keep up with component demand- for now.
I wouldn't sell the plasteel directly. It might seem tempting as a means of quick funds for little work, but plasteel has many uses (and don't get me started on mods that use it, then you're dying for more all the time). Stone statues are my favorite export, since I am usually knee-deep in blocks (gotta process those chunks) and simply don't need that many walls.

If you really want to sell the plasteel, consider making weapons out of it. You should get a much better return on anything normal quality or above, I think. Might want to get out a calculator to be sure. I'm not sure what gives you the best return, I am sure that information is around or someone here knows.

Interesting, I'll look into that. I have some good crafters, so that could work really well- thanks!
