While I don't find it difficult to find mods (Igadbod's been doing a fantastic job at keeping his A8 mod list up to date), I do agree that opening it up to mods would generate more traffic to the wiki.

General Discussion / Re: Question about future content
January 11, 2015, 07:40:50 PM
The framework for RimWorld is absolutely fantastic (the cover and shooting mechanics, the consequences of injuries, and the new weather system, to name a few), and I can't wait to see what other kind of content Tynan brings to the game.

With that being said, at this point in time, I doubt I would've purchased as early as I did without the sheer amount of mods that available and being added every day.

As a final note - try playing without killboxes and underground building. Play in the open, with multiple approaches, and see how well it does; try playing EdB's Scenarios in the mods. This is a sandbox game of sorts, and the fun - and challenge - will often come from your own experimenting and creativity. If you keep repeating the same formula - tunneling and making killboxes - then, of course it will become repetitive.

EDIT:
I do want to comment about my middle section, since Milon quoted me elsewhere and I reconsidered what I wrote. I stand by what I said - that the game without mods wouldn't be worth the price in it's current state - but what ensures the game's value IS that it's so mod-friendly, adding all the more to it's replayability. I don't regret my purchase in the slightest and I truly am excited to see what Tynan throws our way next. :)

You have a lot of really good mods on here, many that I avoided because I kept having conflicts. Glad to see you've got something that looks to be very stable. :)

Not all of them are my cup of tea, but the overwhelming majority are. Once I finish up my current colony, I'll be downloading this. Thanks, Epyk!

Ideas / Re: Traders need more silver or barter

If nothing else, I definitely agree that we should be able to sell for less, possibly with a little bonus experience to social.

A general goods trader would be nice, though.

General Discussion / Re: Am I playing too much?
January 11, 2015, 10:22:06 AM
When I first began a playing, I had the same problem.
I'm okay now, though, I promise. There's really no need for the jacket anymore, dearie.

Ehehehehe!

I hate to jump on the "Could you" train, but if you get the opportunity, could you allow the scenarios and Prepare Carefully to work together? I think I could replicate Sole Survivor with PC, but I couldn't do so with Amongst the Wreckage.

Otherwise, I can't customize the characters that I begin with.
Even if you can't make it work, thank you again - these scenarios really are game changers. :)
You already can. You just need newest (1.6.1) of Prepare Carefully. However in the Amongst the Wreckage you get the ones you choice (1-6 usually) and 5-7 downed on average that you cant.
Thanks. Thought I had the newest version, but apparently I downloaded Prepare Carefully less than an hour before it was updated. /doh

I know Tynan's delaying on a Steam release, but if this game has Steam Workshop, that'd make life much easier. I have too many mods. xD

Good start for a first mod! Keep it up. :)

As Yas said, even with this not stickied, I have this thread bookmarked and visit 6-7 times throughout the day, because it really is THAT much more convenient than scrolling through 2-3 pages and trying to remember what I've seen and haven't.

Honestly, I feel like I'm about one-fifth of your thread views at this point. XD

Thanks again, Igabod!

The guy that shot you.
Doesn't that taste all the sweeter?

General Discussion / Re: I Like This Start

Very good start, I'd say. :)

I used EdB's Scenario mod and went Sole Survivor and started out in a similar area, with the steam geyser out in the open, but there wasn't a second one so close by.

Really, guys?

Chill out. He's working for free. He'll get to it when he gets to it - he said so on the last page.
If it's a big deal, keep playing A7. If you'd rather not do that, then learn to have some patience.

General Discussion / Re: How's the disease balance?
January 06, 2015, 09:34:40 PM
I haven't tried the jungle yet, but I've spent about eight in-game years in colder parts, and DISEASE-wise (not infection from injuries), I only experienced 2-3 hits.

Just my take, but for people being out in the cold 12+ hours a day, every day, I think it'd be a little more taxing than that, even if it was just a cold/fever, etc.

General Discussion / Re: Helping a dieing allies?
January 06, 2015, 04:14:02 PM
Currently, there isn't a way to help without making your allies mad.

You COULD capture, heal, and release him... but it will still wind up having a negative impact on your relationship (though, not as bad as if you'd just held them prisoner).

If you want to continue maintaining your friendship with them, you just have to let him die.

I should've mentioned this in my original post, but I bet if you'd named it 'Hot Coffee' mod, you'd have about triple the readers. :)
