I think this could be more of an legal issue than an technical one.

Also Ludeon gets all of the price if you buy directly from them. So DRM-Free would be great feature to still promote buying from the website.

In addition to my last suggestion.

An overview of factions in the landingsite selection window. Searching and accounting the whole planet is so annoying.

Just put the dots next to the planet names or above the "mode" button so I can see .. 3 pirates, 2 tribes 1 outlander ..

Thats actually possible exactly how you described it :)

You can strip prisoners as you can wounded.
Then put one-shot stockpiles with whatever prisonwear you want.
I usually go with cloth shirt and pants, tribal wear works also.


This makes your live easier in multiple ways.
No bad thoughts about crappy cloth,
No armored prisoner,
No prisoners dying of heatstroke, because they insist on wearing a parka in summer.

Yes I don't like permadeath because of clicking errors.

My first and for now last permadeath game blessed me with awesome colonists, an awesome map and an incredibly stupid player :)

I opened a huge ancient danger room, found a hive and thought, awesome .. we can do this.

So I rushed the hive with my 3 guys, the big insect comes out to play and I order my shooters to take cover behind the cryo caskets ..

instead of taking cover .. they open the caskets .. it all went to shit from there .. it was my shortest colony ever.
In hindsight funny as hell, but still I could not find the map again :(

But sometimes a do-over is more satisfying than accepting game-over.

Make it possible to set the numbers of factions in the scenario editor.

More pirates, less tribals, all tribals, no friends ..

This is true, and reflects the fighting skill of the person throwing the punches.
But the same kind of skills applies to taking someone down without hurting.

I can understand the notion that ranged non-lethal take downs would be overpowered in gaining colonists, but in close combat, especially against allies there should be the option for something that every damn cop in the world is trained to do !

Solution 2 is allready possible.

Just put some meat / corpse stockpile far away from your colony and let the dangerous animals eat there.

Trap them and they become self sustaining ^^
