General Discussion / Re: Older versions of the Game
February 11, 2018, 04:33:32 PM
There are older versions in the Steam Beta option, although they only go back to the initial Steam Release not back to A1.

Nothing that users should see unless they are reading the debug log.
That has been cleaned up to prevent cluttering it with messages that dont really matter.

Just Updated EnhancedOptions to a new version.
I did a fairly major code refactor, so let me know if anything looks broken.
#184
Updated ED-EnhancedOptions to 0.18.0.4 to fix an exception related to Hide Spots.
#185
Sounds like you need to change the targetVersion in About.xml.

Help / Re: Making Mod Menus
January 22, 2018, 10:07:38 PM
I don't know that it is the best way but feel free to have a look at my ED-EnhancedOptions mod to see the best way that I have found from looking at other mods.
It has the advantage that there is not much in it apart from Settings and Harmony Patches controlled by the settings.
Mostly you will want to look at ModSettings_EnhancedOptions.cs

Mods / Re: Refuel Preference (request.. maybe?)

I don't recall charcoal being in the base game. So you would be best asking the developer of whatever mod added charcoal.

Mods / Re: Modding induced gaming fatigue

Yeah, I am in the same boat.
Spending most of my Rimworld time modding instead of actually playing right now.
I still play other games, but with playing Rimworld I keep thinking of something else that I want to add in first.

Hopefully I will get it to the point where I am happy with it.

I have also added this as an option to my mod ED-EnhancedOptions.

I am using a Harmony Prefix and am checking if the job.RecipeDef.defName is "CremateCorpse" and strip or not based on that.

Updated ED-EnhancedOptions to 0.18.0.3

Suppressing Forced Time Slowdown.
Suppress Stripping Corps before Cremation.
Hide Marriage, Caravan Packing and Party Spots.

I will probably have a look into this and making a mod for it over the weekend but I haven't tried it in game yet.

But from a quick look at the code my guess would be Verse.AI.Toils_Recipe.CalculateIngredients that contains the code:

list.Add(thing);
IStrippable strippable = thing as IStrippable;
if (strippable != null)
{
strippable.Strip();
}

It looks like anything that implements, IStrippable, which Corpse does will be stripped by any Recipe Toil, which cremating is.
So I will try a Harmony Patch and see what that gets me, although to start with that would stop stripping from every recipe, and I don't know what else could be using that.

Mods / Re: (Mod Request) sellable power

I like this idea and will have a look at it over the weekend if I have the time and maybe put up a work in progress.
Probably based around the idea of a Plasma Power Transfer Beam up and down from orbiting ships.

Interesting Idea.

I agree with Dagoras that balancing would be hard and something that could be left as user configurable.
A Rimworld does not strike me as a place that would be conductive to having long distance High Voltage power lines.

Other ways it could be handled are a Wireless Power Transfer System, or Creating Charged Power Cells / Batteries and selling them as a standard items.
I used to have a Wireless Power and PowerCells mod that I plan to resurrect it at some stage and this would be an interesting thing to add.

General Discussion / Re: Largest map size lag?

I think he was assuming that the primary disk was an SSD what would be much faster than the Hard Disk.

Mods / Re: How do I update my mod version number?
January 14, 2018, 08:42:10 PM
You will want to Upload it in game.

Check that:
- You are running the Steam Version of Rimworld.
- Rimworld is in Dev Mode.
- You have a "PublishedFileId.txt" in your about Folder, this is what Rimworld uses to know what mod it is to Update and not a new mod. You can get it from Downloading the steam version.
-You may have to have the mod installed manually, not the steam version to update the Steam version (I have not checked that but I usually upload from a manual install version.)
