Yea non of my friends play, and I tried getting my best friend to play and showed him the game but he didn't like the graphics, and thought it looked to complicated(which is odd since he likes Civ 5). He is more into mainstream and survival fps type games, which I also play a lot of with him.

General Discussion / Re: Why so expensive?

30 isn't that high of a price; in fact I find rather rare to find good games below 40 now-a-days. I typically avoid paying 60 espically if its from certain companies that have lost my trust.

However, whomever pointed out that 30 will keep away CoD 'kids', I would like to remind them that they are making a baseless - and very false - assumption, as there are many here whom I know of that also play CoD and they are in their forties and fifties or even early thirties (such as me) so no this won't discourage us 'kids' from buying Rimworld. Also, insulting a segment of the gamer base demonstrates that you lack the ability to properly argue your point without resorting to baseless insults.

He stated earlier in the thread it was because of mods and not the base game. This thread is pretty repetitive with every post not agreeing saying it's because of regional pricing lol. Do people not read through threads before replying?

I have to agree with the OP, while I have liked the game it is to expensive in all honesty when comparing it to similar projects(other indie games average $10-$20). Also to the post above me I live in the USA :P.

General Discussion / Re: Development Stopped?

While I understand the need for a vacation 6 month's is a very long vacation lol. Most people work 40-70 hours a week and only get 4-8 weeks off a year so I am finding it hard to support his move, and I would not be surprised if he is starting on a new project during that period honestly. But hopefully he comes back refreshed regardless of my opinion and gets back to cracking and does the Steam release after finishing up the game(or while).

General Discussion / Why are the conduit walls gone?
September 09, 2015, 10:49:33 PM
So you used to be able to build conduit walls for powering stations inside of structures, but I can no longer build them(been a while since I last played)? How do I power my station inside a building, and why was that feature removed?

What a zerg fest...... doesn't even look fun. Think we seriously need some new enemies for the late late game. Some game ending boss type units so you wouldn't need blob central hahahaha.... man that has to be laggy as fk. Can't imagine....

Yea Hopefully when Tynan gets back he will start working towards 1.0 by fixing the late game and being more creative as that's my main complaint about the game anymore to make it feel like a release version. I would love to have to fight some giant bosses instead of a zerg, and as suggested in the other thread maybe a random generator for the bosses like DF has.

As I said in the first thread, and this poll verifies it, it's crazy how many people watch other people play video games on youtube. I would much rather play a game as opposed to some guy talking about it as he plays it and watch that lol. I always laugh when I see my son doing it, and I guess I am old or not in the right generation for it as it bores the heck out of me after watching a few minutes(only 29 though lol). To each his own I suppose, as I just youtube to learn things in games/in real life such as tutorial videos on occasion.
Yet people watch sports on TV and have no desire to go play it themselves.
The former is entertainment, the latter is recreation. Playing a game is recreation, but sometimes we just want to be entertained. Not every game will entertain every person - they have to like the game, kind of know what's going on, and have a decent host/player. There's Youtube of course, but Twitch adds a whole new level by allowing direct and immediate interaction with the streamer, often a richer experience than you'd get playing by yourself.

The funny thing about that is I do not watch sports either, because I want to go play, so I don't think that statement is entirely true lol. I used to play football and my father is a hardcore football watcher, and anytime I see him watching it I tend to go in the other room as I get reminded of my good old days and want to play again lol.

General Discussion / Re: No cats?
August 24, 2015, 09:09:41 PM
I don't like cats so I don't mind :P. The only reason I tolerate them is because of the fact they hunt and kill mice, and my moms cat when I go to my parents house acts like a dog lol(let's me pet it on the stomach, fetches, comes to it's name, it's really wierd as I have had a lot of cats in my life growing up and never seen one act that way). Also I find falcongrey's post odd as I cannot count how many times I have been scratched or bitten(close to the bone once, and needless to say that attack ended badly for the cat :() and never had issues or had to go to a doctor.

Oh yea guess I didn't notice it either lol, as I am always just eager for the new version :). I always saw mac, etc and ignored below that line since it seemed to just be other OS downloads.

I agree that eggs are a protein. Now if Tynan considers that a non meat, that is strange, as they definitely are not a vegetable.

Looking at the cooking bills, eggs will only be used in simple meals, as fine meals require .25 meat and .25 veg. Eggs fall into other category, but milk is a vegetable.

Same with lavish meals, require .5 meat and .5 veg.

Milk should not be a vegetable either.

He states it in this thread, https://ludeon.com/forums/index.php?topic=15221.0

QuoteFine meals require some meat and some non-meat. I guess eggs count as non-meat in A12. You should either get some meat or switch to simple meals

Very odd as I have never heard of anyone saying eggs are not meat lol. Think about what they turn into if you let them hatch and dont eat them :P.

Gameplay related issues.

Pawn breeding is a heavily discussed and frequently suggested feature. Just a quick glance at any post in the suggestions forum would answer your questions as to probably why not.

I really saw no reason not to reading those threads honestly. Most of those that were against it(not many) just didn't like the idea of kids being in the game for some reason. DF makes it work perfectly fine.

Dang a lot of people learned about it through youtube. I can never bring myself to watch someone else play a game as I would rather just play it myself. I have never understood peoples desire to do that and laugh when my son does it lol. Times change I guess I am an old man. The only time I ever watch youtube is to learn something.

Forcing them to do it usually makes them do one step of the process and then just walk away and do something else.

Ok but CAN you force them to do it. Because if so we clearly have a bug with priorities. If not it might be something else.

He stated he could later in that same post by continually forcing them. I have noticed the same issue as well honestly, and just turned off everything but construction for one of my colonists which is obviously not intended. This should probably be reported to Tynan.

eggs are a protein, not a vegetable, and that makes perfect sense.

I am slightly confused are you agreeing with me or not lol? It seems you are agreeing with me, so eggs should not be considered a plant as they are in game since this last update. Tynan said himself they are counted as a "non-meat." Whereas they obviously should be.
