Notch no longer develops Minecraft and hasn't done so for a long time thankfully. From the updates they have been rolling out, I'd argue they're already bored of it, but that's just my opinion . Minecraft was never on Steam because Notch wanted to sell merchandise, and Steam wouldn't allow for it. That is legitimately the biggest contributor (of many) to that decision.

I really wish I could get the game right now, but I have to wait for these e-checks to go through and that takes five or more days. If there could be a payment option not involving pay-pal, it might make those who try to avoid using it like me more willing to purchase the game, as I put it off for a while purely due to the pay pal usage.

I would just like to say that this little story here has been the tipping point for me buying the game If indoor combat can reach a point where your base is actively having roof collapses and the layout of your base is being changed by your decisions mixed with the decisions of something totally out of your control, then this is the game for me right here.
