A9 might not have a giant new system. It looks like it's shaping up to be more of a refinement/gap-filling release.

If nothing else, PLEASE hotfix the AI's crazy priority of door bashing over self preservation and more valuable targets. It's madness.

And no, the battle took too long, all the autosaves were too far back. I BARELY survived the raid, I really don't want to go through it again.

You could replace any missing legs/feet with peg legs, only costing 1 medicine (for the operation) and 1 wood, and then release them once the anesthesia wears off.

Title says it. My first colonist and one I grew most attached to had a mental break after three years in the tundra and we had to shoot her to reign her in. She broke after a lengthy siege from 65 pirates forced her out into the cold for nearly two days straight. She witnessed 50 some odd corpses and was urgently hungry, very tired, and wounded. She broke on the way back to base right before she got to her bed to rest. We recaptured her after incapping her and healed her up with glitterworld medicine but poor snotface, yes that's her name, suffered brain damage. Her brain is now 1/10, old gunshot wound from the r-4 and she is brain dead and can't get out of the hospital bed. She has very low consciousness and has to be fed every day but is no longer physically injured.

I don't want to euthanize her. Poor snotface has been with us since the beginning! Help?

I play vanilla and noticed this. I think it has to do with the sheer number of items and junk that drops on the map that accumulates over time. Along with corpses. My game chugs around this time and I occasionally get the debug window to pop up telling me colonists tried to do something they shouldn't be doing. I only play max world sizes and max map sizes with phoebe on challenge. I have an eight core 5.0ghz amd, 64 bit os, 32gb of ram, two radeon r9 280x on crossfire and plenty of power, 1400w, with plenty of hard drive, 500gb.

I honestly think it may be a memory leak. I have 19 colonists now (I think), 41k resources and eight hours into the colony on the new tundra biome. It chugs. Not sure how to send in a debug file though.

Observed corpse x3 isn't capped at 3 at all, thats the problem. if there are 22 corpses you get 22 x Observed corpse.

so thats why i set it to 0.5. but tbh if that eventually even gets to high i just set it to 0 till it's capped at 3.

gonna fiddle with "Thoughts_Memories" myself, see if i can get that limit working.

I thought I noticed this. I just laid out 31 pirate raiders and all my people are basically fetal position crying themselves to sleep for defending themselves... I mean yeah it sucks, but they were there to KILL you...

Fleshed out art. Hire that artist to make Rim World unique and the gritty firefly sci-fi it's supposed to be!

Ranged weapons crafting.

Armor crafting/ More armor variety.

Higher focus on faction relationships/diplomacy.

All around more content and variety.

Ability to heal characters wounded on the field without capturing them and pissing off the owning faction. Maybe get goodwill bonus for providing field triage. I feel bad for the survivors and tribes people I make friends with after they get incapped or put in shock from gunfire. Just have to watch them bleed out. I wish I could heal them.

Not really? I'd think it'd just be assigning values to material type. Overhead mountain = X so leakage, temperature drift = X Wood = X times 1.5 due to material?

Idk. Maybe later. It's still early alpha, we aren't even to beta yet.

Dig into a mountain and have a massive main hallway that slowly funnels them down into one or two tiles, then another large 8x8 square kill room with sandbag cover and easy fall back exits for your defenders. Mountains provide a ton of cover and defense. Just got to worry about fires I guess. No rain to put them out.

Colony banners and flags would be cheap to add. Maybe have a simple place holder texture with one color of banner for now, that we could later go crazy with. Different pirate, tribal and alliance/rebel themes for your colony you could customize? That'd be fun. Make it cost 2/3 wood, 1/3 cloth.

I just had this happen. I healed the poor bloke, chat him up, but seeing as how he's incapable of skilled labor, hauling, cleaning... I don't want him. We have no place for him, all he can do is social and medicine but I already have two doctors. Other than execute him, or wait for him to go insane from cabin fever I can't do anything for him. I wish I could atleast release him or escort him outside in restraints to cure his cabin fever while I wait for a slaver.
