Outdated / Re: [A13] Weasel's Misc Mods | Including: No Dazed Stripping
September 12, 2016, 04:35:55 PM
I hate dazed, I don't want to play because of it. Makes no sense to strip naked ALL the time. Because let's face it, they never get dazed once and that destroys anyone's argument of it being realistic because I know NO ONE that has every stripped naked randomly, let alone happen ALL the time.
This mod made people becoming Dazed bearable.
No other mod does anything like this, not even the other mod mentioned.

I would most certainly love to see this.
Same goes for Trading beacons but I'll find the relevant topic for this (or make it if it doesn't exist)

Ideas / Packed Lunches, Food on the go?
January 07, 2015, 08:44:39 AM
I was just playing around with my experimentation colony and it just dawned on me...
Visitors have food on them.
They actually carry around food inventory, can do things like shoot and even walk around.
... Why can't my colonists?
Sure perhaps they should be a little miserable about eating from the floor.
But why can't they stuff food in their pockets or in their backpack when they're off to construct/mine/hunt/whatever?
Instead of hauling their backside from the other side of the map to the mess hall of the colony?
Too many times have I seen colonists do their little mining operation on the other side of the map and almost lose their minds on the walk back because they're hungry.
I dunno, I just like the idea of packed lunches. Instead of prioritising eating them, it'd be an inventory thing they grab when they wake up or something.
*shrugs*
Just an idea/suggestion.

Ideas / Re: Game Settings - Pause on specific events
January 07, 2015, 08:18:02 AM
I have no idea what is so hard about pausing the game.
Whenever I leave my computer during ANY game, I pause it.
Why would anyone leave a game running when AFK?
Never in my years of playing RTS games have I left it running to quickly grab a drink or do whatever. I pause the game, go do my thing, come back and unpause it.
Pressing ESC, pressing Spacebar, pressing Pause.
By all of you people's logic if my bladder was about to explode because I was holding it and I was playing Age of Empires for example. I quickly ran up and left without pausing, if enemies get close or whatever bad happens... The game should autopause? Or in Minceraft, a creeper spawns while I'm AFK, should it autopause?
Just pause the damn if you leave the computer.
As for pausing when something bad happens in game while you are there?
I'm playing the game, I don't want the game playing for me.
If people are too bone idle to pause the game when a red letter appears, you're playing the wrong game. Also would it have to pause on ALL red letters? Because I really couldn't give a monkeys about that ONE psycho squirrel...
Oooh, how about instead of autopausing.
We have all red letters auto-open
So they pause the game and take over our screen while we are busy building a base or whatever.
This is a complete waste of time, I'm done as of this post and I'm off to go play my autopausing Facebook/Mobile games.

Video / Alpha 8 | Forsaken Valley | Modded LP - Everything WILL Go Wrong
January 07, 2015, 07:39:03 AMQuoteWelcome to the Forsaken Valley, colonist.
If there is a god in this universe, he won't hear your pleas for mercy here.
Not only will you be trying to survive everything trying to kill you, the land itself is now your enemy. Temperatures will be going into the extremes as the land tries to murder not only your body, but your mind too.
You may think it's up to you whether you'll survive in this land. But this land isn't yours, you're merely living on borrowed time. It's up to you, to make sure that you do something worthwhile with the time you have.
Hey guys.
I'm back with yet another Let's Play of RimWorld, I fell in love with this game and subsequently made 40 episodes of Alpha 7. I'm really looking forward to how this playthrough will go. So join me in my unedited experience in Alpha 8. Not only do we have to deal with everything trying it's hardest to kill us, we have to survive the land itself trying to consume us too. I didn't quite know what I was getting into when I first got Alpha 7, but boy am I sure glad I did. Absolutely phenomenal game and I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next!

Big thanks to Tynan Sylvester for making this game, seriously, this is one of my favourite games of all time and I absolutely can't wait until it is released. I'd do anything for a Cryptopod to pass time until it's finished
Hehe. This is going to be a fun ride!

Video / RimWorld Alpha 7 | Welcome to Hell
January 04, 2015, 07:15:14 AM
Welcome to Hell, colonist. Hell is a colony where anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Don't expect an easy time here, expect hardships and things that will test you mentally more than physically. Life insurance doesn't qualify here.
You're on your own from here on out. I hope you brought Survival Meals.
Hey guys.
I absolutely adored this game when I first tried it, made a few videos and ended up making 40 of them for this specific colony, forgot to post them on this forum so only just getting around to it now, I'll post my Alpha 8 videos ASAP. Absolutely crazy the amount of hours I find myself sinking into this (About 30 hours in this colony LP alone). It's so rage inducing yet provides so much excitement at the same time.

As it's Alpha 8 now, I can't promise the mods will work unless they've been updated to Alpha 8.

Well if that's the case, whenever you leave the keyboard.
Just press spacebar.
Spacebar, boom, run across the world and do whatever you want.
Come back, press spacebar again and find nothing will have happened to your colony.

General Discussion / Re: The Most Annoying Thing In Rimworld
December 27, 2014, 03:13:53 PMQuote
Drafted colonists will automatically put out fires next to them, so you can draft nearby colonists to manually put out fires (without worrying about prioritization) if necessary, if it's something important on fire or one of the fires got reserved by someone halfway across the map.
I know, but I've got more important things to deal with than a petty little fires during a dry thunderstorm. Some of which I'm unaware of and only become aware of when the game tells me someone is injured due to this, thus being the most annoying thing in RimWorld and will remain so until addressed.

Colonists when putting out fires.
They will ignore the fire next to them in favour of someone half way across the map.
When that someone finally gets there to put out the fire they were "assigned".
They're STOOD inside the fire that has obviously spread in the time it took to walk up.
So the idiots get burned and just stand there while burning.
The rage is strong when that happens.

The technology chips give you research points in your current research. They are a fallback if people converted all their colonists but still need to research.
Oh, well that would explain a lot. Thanks for elaborating!
So yeah, I don't really use the chips and knowing what I do now, I still don't think I'm going to use them much.
However, the Hive Mind part I use so much to bring pack the poor devils who were shot in the head but survived, giving their bodies a "second chance". If such an existence can be classed as that.

Replied to another topic with pretty much what you said, didn't know this existed until you posted about it on there, so here's my post:

Please... I beg you
QuoteThis is one of my biggest pet peeves with this game.
But it's not just fires.
It's everything.
I'd love things to be prioritised based on location and how close you are to something.
Say someone recently finished extinguishing the fire and is walking off, yet there's a fire next to them and someone far away wants it, they should override it.
Alternatively, let OUR choice override what the colonists want to do.
So instead of saying "oh you can't click that because it's reserved", how about we get to override it by just clicking on it with a colonist we selected, like we would if it wasn't reserved. The one who originally reserved it would just stop in their place and go do something else. That would be the quickest and simplest temporary solution to this I guess.

Support / Re: Help adding rimworld on steam as non steam game

I recently started doing this with my RimWorld game too.
It's handy because you don't need to Alt-tab to talk to friends on steam, just open the normal Steam UI ingame like you would any other Steam game (& Web browser should you want it for whatever reason)
and instead of using the F keys for Screenshot, you can use your usual Steam screenshot key (whatever you assign it to).
I also like being able to just right click steam icon in my tray and launch RimWorld from there.
Other than that... There's literally no "positives" to doing this, it's just handy to keep all your games in one Library on Steam (Shame it doesn't track hours). I have over 1100 games on Steam, so having my other PC games assigned through Steam makes them easier to access instead of browsing for an icon or searching through the start menu.
I have 2 monitors so I run the game in windowed mode. I don't have to alt+tab out to do anything. And my computer always lags when I right-click the steam icon in the tray. Plus I have Fences installed so finding games is REALLY easy for me, all of my game icons are located in one corner of my desktop in one of the Fences. So basically all of those benefits are completely useless in my case. I guess I can see the benefit of a couple of them for those who only have one monitor.
I use 3 monitors. But prefer playing in fullscreen. Windowed annoys me unless it's borderless windowed.

Ideas / Re: Useful Ships
December 27, 2014, 01:17:53 AM
Oh snap.
You just made me think of another use for the ship...
Pack away some resources and transport your colonists to enemy colonies!
Give you a chance to feed the pirates some of their own medicine by besieging them back!
Or send them to friendly colonies to help with the defence.
Get rewarded by destroying or saving a colony.
On randomly generated colony maps, that'd be pretty cool heh.
